*Edited to add that I did go back and there was a much better server the following month. They do have good beer and the management tracked me down to try and make things right. So they do care about their business. We will see what the next few months bring.
I went here last night to enjoy my monthly book club. I sat down and was talking with a friend when the waiter brought drinks to the table for people who had already ordered. For some reason he decided to serve from his tray over my head instead of I don't know from the side of the table! And then he proceeded to dump a tray full of beer down my shirt, in my hair and over my head, down my pants, in my purse, down my coat and just anywhere you can imagine I had beer in. Then he proceeded to chuckle about it. Never once apologized. So instead of getting to enjoy the one hour I had waited all month for and was super excited for I got to go home and wash my coat, empty out my purse and clean everything in losing many things that were ruined, clean my purse, clean my car as my purse and myself covered my car in beer, take a shower. Super fun night thanks for that. Not even an apology. He actually laughed I just cannot get over that. My friends called after book club and were so upset for me as they all heard him chuckle. Not one of us can believe that was his response. Then he never even came back to their table to offer them more beer, screwed up their tabs, dropped more beer from what I heard. Such a...
Read moreThe beer here is great, really tasty stuff. Raspberry Tarty Slip was delicious, as well as the Orange Brewlius, Buzz Blanket, and Blueberry Apple Cider. Leaving out two stars though because my boyfriend and our two friends were told we had to sit out in the greenhouse igloo (totally fine, we’re in the middle of a pandemic, and it was actually pretty cozy with the heater and lights) but then we received zero service after waiting around inside for ten minutes for the woman to take us outside. No one came to check if we liked our drinks, if we wanted another round, or to take away the glasses we no longer needed. Then when I went inside to pay the tab on their iPad, they have these “cute fun descriptions” to explain what leaving a certain percentage of tip means. Apparently if I left 20% it meant I thought the place was “Mehhh” but if I left 25% I liked the place. I think 20% is perfectly acceptable, especially to give to staff who gave really no service whatsoever. I did like the place, but I didn’t appreciate trying to be guilt-tripped into tipping more. I’d like to go back for the tasty beer, but definitely not in the igloo. The service should have been no different than if I was at an establishment in the summer...
Read moreDuring this lockdown, a friend and i have been practicing social distancing by taking long bike rides. During one of our rides we decided to see if the Drafting Table was open. When we arrived there was an extended wait for a train that was going by and the brewery was closed for pickups at this time. They had workers inside still making beer and cleaning. Without knocking or even attempting to speak with somebody a lady poked her head out to say that during our long wait for the train she had some complimentary refreshments for us. We were shocked by the kind gesture. In a crazy time like right now it really makes you feel good knowing that there are great people and great businesses in the area that care enough to truly make someones day. We finished our beverages and left a $20 under the cans at the door to return the love. We have already discussed bike routes for the summer and this will be a stop for us every time. Thank you for your kindness, I'll...
