Taqueria La Casita — Restaurant in Wixom

We tried this for the first time. As soon as you sit down- you are greeted with a sign that says 1st two salsa and chips basket are free anything additional they will charge, which is fine because two should be plenty for a party of 4. We ordered the food and when the dishes came the plates were huge. I ordered one of the specials to try something new. The chorizo was extremely spicy- couldn’t eat it. The carne asada was so salty I could not swallow. They remade the steak with absolutely no flavor. Very poor service. They young lady that served us was very polite and apologized. Management never came by or apologized for the poor service. I gave it two stars because the refried beans and the cactus salad (the only things I ate) were very good. My son ordered the fijitas he asked for tomatoes and they asked him if he wanted the cheese on the side. They charged us $1.00 for 1 tablespoon of cheese and $1.00 for 2 tablespoons of tomatoes (they never told us there would be a fee- anywhere else tomatoes come on the side especially since he did not get the pico de Gallo). Very disappointed! This would not be a restaurant I would...

Tamale Dinner. California Burrito. Chips. Here's some pictures to show how beautifully plated each meal came to our table. Chips and salsa were yummy. I love tamales but not covered and buried in cheese so I was super delighted with the soft light tomato sauce over them that I requested with no cheese on top. My grandpa use to make tamales and we always ate them with ketchup. This light sauce was reminiscent of the past to me and actually an upgrade from ketchup from a bottle. I got one chicken and one meat. Both were good but the meat is more original to me. Next time....and there certainly will be a next time....I'll probably get the same thing but 2 meat. Take note that the dining in part of this restaurant is small...maybe about 6 tables. They do a brisk carry out and that seems to be a big focus of their business so lots of folks were coming and going throughout our Sunday evening meal. But eating in was fun and so was our very friendly and knowledgeable waiter. We had a great time on our first time and kicked ourselves for not trying this...

Maybe they were having a rough sunday or something but today I ordered carryout for the first time here and it came out all wrong. I dont like to complain and I almost never wright reviews but I was dissapointed I can ignore one mistake but when I cant enjoy my meal after driving 20 min to and from its a little irritating :(.. The horchata I got tasted like it was in the container too long.. Also My chile relleno was spicier than usual so just wanted to let u guys know someone is slacking in the kitchen with preparation quality. Other than that the food is wonderful. I'm gonna stick to dininnig in only I love this place but bummed I didnt get my corn tortillas and got that extra pound of cheese I didnt want on my rellenos I asked for double rice and got beans but that's okay and I think they miss understood rice and added a side of fries i had a good meal but still I was exited to rate 5 stars ill try carryout again...
