Unfortunately, this evening, my experience with the girl that we worked with, I believe her name was âemy or Amyâ She was amazing, young brunette, girl, running around, taking care of all the customers. Between the hours of 8:15 to 8:31 while her colleague, âthe youngâ âblonde girlâ sat there and chatted for 15 minutes with two young high school age boys while they ate a banana split. I walked up with my five year-old and my 17-year-old And for over seven minutes watched as the girl chatted with her friends all while the other girl âemy or Amyâ ran around to make ice cream And fulfill orders. I politely asked the girl âis she the only one talking orders?â Pointing to the brunette girl who is taking care of everyone she then responded to me âSheâs working the front Iâm working out backâ then continued to carry on for another three minutes with her two friends and totally ignore the fact that I was with my family, and she clearly had nothing to do other than socialize, and chose not to help at all obviously our time means nothing. Whether or not, that is her job description (staying and making orders out back) I find it extremely unprofessional and immature . She continued to speak for another few minutes, and then the boys laughed along and left five more people at that time came up to the window. One small woman with black hair, went to the blonde girl. She began to take her order and heard me complain stopped in her tracks and said âIâm sorry She will take care of youâ and pointed to the other girl and then went out back. I tipped the young brunette, (emy or Amy) almost $20 for her hard work and dedication to her job, paying attention to detail and staying calm and professional. I encourage the owners to watch the camera between 8 PM and 830 on October 2. It is my sonâs birthday and I am extremely disappointed with how much money Iâve spent at the establishment as a member of the community and how much I have tipped these young kids looking to make an extra dollar. I am disgusted At (some of) their lack of focus and enthusiasm to take care of their customers. I donât think anyone should be fired, but I do think there should be some reprimanding and some lessons to be learned from this situation.
Very disappointing
5âď¸ for emy or Amy (sorry) 2 stars for the other girl 1 would be down right wrong.

Read moreNanabette's has a long history in Woburn; it is beloved by many. But the things I say need to be said and hopefully, the owners will take negative reviews to heart and try to make changes.
They serve Richardson's ice cream. Which is good. They do not serve a wide variety of Richardson's flavors, they have a lot of overlapping flavors, and they are very slow to change their "special" flavors. It is also quite common for them to be out of several flavors, which you only learn when you get to the front to order. Our family has taken to having at least two backup flavors this happens so often.
Ordering and fulfilling orders is slow. Their system is slow. Even if the line appears short you may easily wait 20-30 minutes. There is no parking, and other patrons park in local businesses or block up the adjacent streets cruising for a parking spot.
Finally, and most importantly, there is no consistency in the sizing, to the point that I actually feel they are ripping people off. My family has placed orders containing kiddie size and small (small is supposed to be larger than kiddie) and had the smalls come out smaller than the kiddie. Even when asked, the store employees stick to their guns that "yes, that's a small." You can receive different quantities of ice cream on different days or even on the same day from the two different employees.
I cannot recomment Nanabette's, even though I live down the street. I would rather drive for my ice cream but have a lower wait, more efficient service, and more accurate scooping by employees who care about these things.
Edit: You will see a response below from the owner stating a number of untrue things. We have had a single exchange in the past which obviously upset him. I inquired via private message about covid policies, his wife responded scornfully, and so I inquired with the state. I never cultivated any negative reviews from friends as he accuses, and I have never had any motivation to destroy their business. I'm glad that they corrected their covid issues in time for their state inspection. My review was not about this. I can see that he has no interest in working on any of the actual concerns voiced. The size consistency is not a fake problem. My husband has on 3 occasions ordered a small and received kiddie size. And we all have our answer: if you don't like it go...
Read moreOriginally wouldâve given 5 stars even though once I ordered a sundae and asked for PB sauce on top of hot fudgeâand didnât get the hot fudge. Didnât notice until driving off so I let it go.
But minimal stars after I went back again tonight and my child wanted a slush. Itâs on the menu and weâve ordered it before. Got the to window and the cashier says no slushees in the winter (itâs Nov, so ok). So I say ok we will do our âgo toâ of vanilla cone with cherry dip. No cherry dip.
Um ok. All of that is fine. Restaurants run out of stuff, change menus all the time. but can you communicate that??
How hard is it to throw a âpost itâ up covering the cherry dip on the menu or throw a sign up âno slushies after XYZ date.â
Customers now have to ask for basic...
