Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Wood River

Had a disaster of a time. Let's start with drinks. I got beer my girlfriend got a fruit passion drink. Was supposed to be red with a cherry. Came out green with a lime. Told Tiffany they made then wrong kind. She took it and came back and said she added the passion fruit to the drink.... I didn't really now how to respond to something so stupid. I ordered a ribeye steak and made sure to tell her medium rare. Steak came out brown and tuff. Most likely cuase the steak was super thin. Maybe as thick as my thumbnail. So I told.her nicly I can't eat the steak and cuase it's well done and way to thin. Went to reach for the menu to order something else at that time she leaves with my plate and in 15 minutes come back with another one that had a little bit of pink in one little spot. Luckily for her my girlfriend doesn't like confrontation and didn't let me say what I wanted to say about her not even listening what I said and I wanted to order something else and just left. Before this I asked for napkins cause we had to use them as plates with out appetizers. She did apologize for that tho I had to ask her twice to bring the napkins. This is the oddest experience IV had at a restaurant. IV never had a problem with Applebee's. When it was time to pay I told them like I always tell them about the 10 percent veteran discount. She told me they don't do discounts. That was really strange cause out of the 20 other times I've never had a problem with that. She come back and says she still applied a ten percent discount with the senior discount.. bill was a little over 80 and receipt said discount 2.50.....that math doesn't add up lol....will never be back to that location. Gonna be calling corporate for sure.. IV never felt the need to ever do that before but this experience was crazy. I felt like I was on the show pranked..if you go here do not get the steak. Our waitress was horrible! At first she was great! Brought us our drinks and then it went downhill from there. The Caesar salad didn’t have any dressing, had spinach in it. Then our meal came. My steak was ok, it was alittle rubbery. My husbands was not cook to what he ordered. He ordered medium rare and told her more on the rare side. Well his steak was burnt, and cooked well. He didn’t eat it at . He pushed his plate away from him . Clue #1 that something was wrong. She never asked what was wrong or how was our food. Clue #2 he pushed his plate to the end of the table. Again never asked if everything was ok. Oh wait, she did ask if we needed a box. And he said no, again clue #3! After she brought us our check and we paid. My husband said if someone pushed there plate away from them and then pushes it to the end of the table, there is something wrong. She said I’m sorry! He said to the waitress the steak was cooked rare, there was spinach in my salad. And not once did you ask how our food was when there was a plate full. So he said I’m not leaving a tip. Her response was “I don’t care, I didn’t cook the food “ and walked off. I was dumb founded and shocked by what she said! We did speak to the manager and he was apologetic. And said he would talk to her! We won’t be going back to...

We were very disappointed with our last visit here. The menu has changed and that is ok. After finally deciding what we all were ordering our waitress took our order. It didn't take to long to receive our order. However, the portion sizes were noticeably smaller than they have ever previously been and quality seems to be lacking now. Our 6 year old likes hot wings so she got our appitiser of mild hot wings only when they came out the were hot not mild. Our 7 year old always gets the chicken tenders and yogurt. The chicken tenders were so small maybe 3.5 inches long and about as wide as my thumb there were 3 of them. Not enough to fill her. Our 12 year old got the chicken broccoli alfredo, there was barely any sauce and the broccoli wasn't cooked well. She said they only good part was the chicken. We had the 6oz steaks, I guess they have really gotten serious about the weight. They were about 4/5 bites and gone. The bacon macaroni and cheese was dry. Our waitress was very attentive with one of our refills but oblivious to the rest...
