The pros: very friendly staff, nice & clean eating area. The ok: my husband’s chicken burrito was good but nothing to write home about. The cons: what they pass off as barbacoa is ridiculous. All I got was under-seasoned, flavorless fat. The beans reminded me of store bought out of a can.
After living nearly a decade in San Antonio before relocating to Oregon, I find that people try to pass off certain mexican dishes/food as authentic. I think that’s what happened here. I understand my expectations are high as I expect the flavors to be similar to a true taqueria. That’s not what I found here.
Since this place is new, still check them out. Maybe they had an off night. Then again, if they’re going to compete in the Portland area food scene, they need...
Read moreI had the Barbacoa Wet Burrito w/red sauce. The burrito was bigger than a Hungarian Albino Sumo Bear, and my stomach decided it needed the stretch. My mouth said I will be back, but the early bird backyard hot 'n' now pinyata explosion special sale said I should probably wait a few weeks to go back. Read moreJust saw this place a couple weeks ago and decided to stop by tonight. What a little hidden gem! Decent prices and Good portions packed with tons of flavor! The Al pastor burrito with green sauce was spot on. Also had a quesadilla with barbacoa, probably some of the best I've had. Also had a couple al pastor street tacos, very very tasty! I really enjoy that they don't skimp out on the seasonings and spice here. Too many places make everything so bland. This is not the case here at all. Definitely will be back...
