I’ve been to at least 20 different Russian delis along the West Coast and this one was probably the worst I’ve been to. For starters, there is an entire wall dedicated to expired goods; but these are not just things nearing expiration or recently expired — but things that have been expired for YEARS Even among the normal selection of allegedly unexpired goods, I found things like Milka chocolate which was expiring in just five days. Shouldn’t this be on the rack with the other stuff? There were no pastries or warm food baked, so I will not comment on that since I couldn’t try it. But perhaps the strangest experience here was when we inquired about some tea behind the counter and the clerk just aggressively threw them on the table, as if we were inconveniencing her by shopping, and then frantically put them back on the shelf while we were in the middle of comparing them? The whole thing was just bizarre. In any case, I know we all have bad days, and sometimes situations can be misinterpreted, so I’ll give this place a second chance the next time I’m in the Portland area but my first impression was not good. On the plus side, the selection of frozen pelmeni was very nice. The selection of imported goods in general is acceptable. Lots of juices and waters. Lots of teas. Lots of candies. There were minimally some cakes and macaroons available, but they were remarkably expensive.

Straight fire. Food is delicious & desserts are pure heaven! Our attendant was super helpful, patient & informative! She juggled other customers extremely well in between our questions & inquiries (we've never been to a Russian bakery before). We were offered samples of most items we asked about & our experience was amazingly quick & we left with happy, full bellies (& almost $200 worth of food, drinks & baked goods)! Would definitely recommend & will definitely return again!

A cute little Russian bakery. Unfortunately I didn't try any of the baked goods but they have a wide variety of various russian goods. It was a little intimidating, the staff did not seem very friendly. And I don't think I've ever felt any more out of my element. Mostly Russian speaking. I guess it just is part o f the experience. The chocolates that we got to snack on are amazing and we hope to come back next time we're in town.

Young girl cashier tricked us on money or didn't care and just made up price on items that didnt have price stickers. Ended up paying about $7 more. She didn't have any idea of costumer service in general. Also, the reason we came there was for pirojki that they were out on Saturday and didn't plan on having until Monday apparently. I would expect better selection on weekend. But on the brite side, quality of things we bought and right marked price was good. Loved how fresh chocolate bulk candy were. The cake was good even thougj not cheap. They had mark down packaged shelf stable food that was expired. Other small Russian/Arabic stores never check exparation dates and sell very old stuff for original price so you better watch out. So I was pleased how they take care of inventory. I wish they had better caring person on counter, I would of given them...

I have been coming here for a couple months now and just wanted to leave a review because the girl in the glasses is and dark brown hair is such a sweet girl! I don’t think I have ever met a more genuine and kind person. She treats each customer with so much kindness no matter what and you can tell she really cares. It’s so nice to know that if I am ever having a bad day, I can come here knowing she’ll greet me with her beautiful smile and sell me some amazing fresh desserts. I love this place so much and recommend it to...
