Bikanervala Iselin — Restaurant in Woodbridge Township

My family visited Bikanervala today to buy sweets, and we experienced the worst service we've ever encountered. Upon entering, we had to wait for 10 minutes to place our order, despite there being no line. The two employees behind the counter were engaged in conversation with a couple who had already completed their purchase.

I can understand waiting while another customer is being served, but it is very rude to wait for 10 minutes while employees chat after they have finished with a customer, especially when others are waiting to be attended to.

Finally, after waiting, a third employee came behind the counter to assist us. This employee was kind and attentive and prepared our order well.

However, the worst part of our visit occurred when I approached the cashier to pay for our order. She told us to wait while she took an order over the phone. After hanging up, she ignored us and started doing something behind the counter. When another phone call came in, she answered it while we continued to wait.

Eventually, it was our turn, she spoke to us in a rude tone, gave us a nasty look, and slammed the bag of sweets on the counter. She also threw down the change and receipt without saying thank you or acknowledging us at all. If you don't understand customer service, you shouldn't be working...

While traveling from Florida to New York we ordered one and hour advance our dinner to go. I did tell lady that I will pick in one an hour hour so make food accordingly, well I got text within 10 minutes that food is ready. I did call and said I wanted you to prepare around pick up time but she said don’t worry it won’t get soggy and will be warm. Which it was not when I got it. Anyways that’s not big deal but food- I ordered haydrabadi soy curry which was supposed to come with rice, dal tadka too. They packed only one rice forgot the other one. I also ordered mutter pulav which in description said it’s basmati rice with peas for my little daughter but it was haldi rice with carrots and peas which was not mentioned, I also ordered paneer and aloo Kathi roll surprisingly first time in life it was made with Mexican tortillas. When I called to tell all this lady said pulav is made with haldi and it will have carrots. Well you also have to mention in your menu details which they did not. We have tried mithass before but first time I tried from Bikanervala but it was not good experience. Anyway, in person I guess owner was good she gifted a box of Petha which was nice of her. Environment looked good. We paid cash (no discount) but if you pay by card they take...

Pathetic service. I don't know know how they run a big chain of store if they can't talk to their customer well. I took a rake out order which means there was not much of the conversation but still they manage to somehow say things which is not supposed to be said. They were taking orders from people they knew or I guess was regular but what about the customer who are standing there from last half an hour. The lady there at the counter was conveniently taking her time to talk to people wasting other people's time. I understand that the service in any Indian restaurant is pathetic but this was new. My order was ready but she was not giving it to me because she was busy in talking. This happened on weekends when everyone is busy. Food was not good at all. Their sweets are good but other than that everything I ate was really bad. Samosas were literally old, in tikki the chollas we're really bad. And paneer Tikka was all watery. And I didn't know why they give chutneys when they have no taste. Overall experience was bad, go there only...
