Terrible experience. I asked for them to remake my gyro. 5 minutes after they made it. I ordered at the counter, drove off and bit into it, I asked for all the veggies and feta. The meat and feta was all that was on there. Went back in, mind you with a 3 yr old plus a surgical boot on my left foot. Turned around and went in.. all to be given a hard time over making a $10 gyro the way I asked in the first place. They said no. I specifically said to the girl who made it, all the veggies. When I went back in, 5 mins later. Same staff of course, was very rude and asked for a ticket number. I said, I didn't get a receipt, and they asked if I have the gyro, I said no ib didn't bring in a sandwich that I bit into, so you can see it. I didn't believe that was sanitary. I don't want my food service people handling a food item a customer bit into! What more proof do y'all want over me requesting you to please make it the way I ordered it. I asked kindly. I was given a very hard time over this, another lady saying the Mgr wasn't there today. I didn't ask for a manager, and no y'all don't need a manager. I didn't ask for a refund of my money. I asked for them to re-make my food the way I asked in the first place and was told no by all staff. I will never be back. Manager/owner- save your generic response of this review which will be the typical, please let us make this right. No, I gave chances today for y'all to make it right. I don't live in the area and won't drive back for something that should have been corrected when I did drive back. Y'all remember I was just in there minutes before, with no other customers in front of me when I went back. I was the last ticket/order y'all put in for one gyro and a PB cookie. Y'all could have found my order in your system. Or, just Re made my item the way I asked in the first place. Terrible treatment of guests and customers. Won't be back. Terrible service. Didn't have to be this way. I gave y'all many chances. Very very disappointed. Very disrespectful to do this to anyone, over a $10 food item. Y'all need to learn customer service and...
Read moreI will preface this by saying, we love Dino's gyros & fries! However, the food is always somehow tainted by horrible customer service. Each time we have visited recently, we have had a not-so-pleasant experience. Previously, it's been due to non-personable staff. No smiles, just going through the motions. Today, the restaurant wasn't supposed to close until 8:00 pm, but we were greeted with dirty looks and staff was hesitant to fulfill our order. I flashed the time on my phone which said 7:53 pm. It wasn't our fault the staff chose to start cleaning up and closing down early, we just wanted to grab a quick and tasty meal. When we ordered 2 sides of fries, the response we got was, "Sides aren't available because our cook is done for the night." But the person responsible for making the fries was standing RIGHT there, beside the fry baskets. They exchanged looks, after which the line staff replied, "Nevermind, I guess it's okay." We could sense so much hostility coming from the staff. After that, somebody jacked up the music so loud in there that we couldn't even communicate our desired toppings properly. While they seemed to have no problem making us gyros, they scoffed at the fact that they had to get out new utensils to use for the toppings we chose. Before paying, we were quite rudely informed that "The dining room is closed, so we have to pack this to go for you" without even asking us how we desired to dine. Then while we were grabbing a soda from the machine, they must've thought we had already exited because we heard them talking about us loudly with another staff member who came from the back. As I walked back around the corner, I made it known that we had heard every word. We walked out with our food and drink at 7:58 pm, 2 minutes before close. Extremely disappointed in this trip to Dino's. The customer service is unsatisfactory and the way we were and have been treated by staff there lately is unacceptable and inexcusable. As loyal customers, we will not tolerate being treated this way. Dino's food is good, but...
Read moreI absolutely love Dino's in Falcon Heights, which may explain why my experience at the Woodbury location was so lackluster. The Build-your-own style menu means that anyone unfamiliar with the construction of a gyro or plate is going to take much longer to have it explained to what typically goes into one. That, combined with the general inexperience of the frontline staff when I visited, lead to a slightly confusing visit for the people ahead of me and the people behind me.
I can say the pita bread had a nice slight outside crisp with a nice soft inside, the tzatziki sauce was tasty, and the spicy feta had a nice slight kick while keeping that feta tang. I arrived at 330 and purchased the $11 plate, for that I got the original gyro and chicken shawarma which were both bone dry, likely due to being kept in Build-your-own warmers for far too long after the weekend lunch rush, some veggies, and the fries. The fries, though seasoned with Dino's usual seasonings, were overly seasoned which made them a chore to eat because I had to dust off seasoning first just to make it not feel like chewing on sandy mush. Finally, the falafels, managed to be nicely spiced while being nothing but crunch all the way through.
In all, the sauces saved the Woodbury location from a 1 star rating for my visit and I think I'll stick to the Falcon Heights location from now on when I want a good and...
