If you want an accurate, detailed, no BS, both ends of the table review, this is one of those honest opinions of a bar that ive been going to for 6+ years. Initially: What you see is upbeat, on some days alot of people, other days a few. As far as patrons there’s a mix of age ranges, but the atmosphere seems to fluctuate depending on the day and people as well, and at one point the mood sunk so low that i was asked to remove the knife i carry on my belt for workplace related reasons, because the night before i came someone attempted to stab someone, which, to me doesn’t concern me personally as i cannot go there because of instances such as that and other things, but i am definitely worried for that families that go into that type of setting. Not exactly a stable place to be in. Ive noticed the same bartender (skinnier, dark hair and comes in later at night) never looks happy, always the same miserable face. It really gives you a hint as to what to expect out of others (though some can hide it really well, but they’re doing their jobs at that point. They gotta be nice to bring business, i get it) Thursdays-Saturdays are generally the busiest, but if you’re someone that goes to bars alone, not really something you’d particularly enjoy because of the noise, which brings up the next subject.
The bands. I think out of all the times ive been here, maybe one or two havent chopped up good songs they should’ve left the original artists to keep playing, and i use the word artists because they were the ones who made the songs good. So in essence, when theres a band there you’ll hear alot of terrible cover music, its pretty rare to hear anything original to the bands themselves (but when there is, its not bad), so they just play until they run out of ideas.
However they do have awesome food, great beer, and putting aside all of the negative aspects, tipping well is never not...
Read moreMy husband and I ate at Cap Corner last Sat night. My husband ordered a Blackened Prime rib sandwich and it was a black thin piece of (hopefully) meat on a huge bun. It had to be no more than 1/4" thick! We happened to have two waitresses that night and when they both came to the table we showed them the meat in the sandwich. They were both shocked and quickly took it back. One of the waitresses returned to our table and told us the manager was yelling at the cook and a new better sandwich will be out soon. She brought out a whole new platter filled with a HUGE mound of hot french fries, my husband was happy....until he looked inside the bun. Here was another VERY THIN slab of black shoe leather looking meat, all for the bargain price of $8.99. They didn't change a THING but give him more fries! I wrote to Captain's Corner and told them all about it, we have gotten no response so far. I took a picture of the little black piece of meat as proof. We will not eat there again, there are too many nice places to eat...
Read moreHave been here many times. Usually stop on way home from work for dinner and a few drinks. First bartender short brunette was sweet and attentive. I had a few drinks 2 shots with my fish tacos. Blonde I’ve never seen before, comes and for whatever reason I can’t get her attention. I always come alone sit with ear buds watch my show and text my friends. Was there maybe 1:30, asked for one more drink and my check. Brunette says “ blonde says you keep nodding off, can’t serve you”!! Im sorry what! Oh that’s right I was the only darker skin guy in there. I said “ I’ve been on my phone I’ll show you my text thread”. Please pay and go!!! Without a beat I did, even tipped $10 on a $46 tab. Never done a drug in my life, I’m absolutely offended that the blonde who wouldn’t look in my direction couldn’t notice my phone in my hand. There are way better places to go who will give...
