Panera Bread — Restaurant in Woodcliff Lake

Very disappointing visit today. I am not a frequent visitor to Panera, however, today was out shopping at Tice's Corner with a friend so we decided to go in for lunch. Ordered a half sandwich/salad combination. Was with a friend and ordered right after her. While her meal was ready quickly (she ordered the same), mine was not coming out. After 15 minutes I went up to the food prep counter. They claimed my Light up disc thing's battery was dead and had been calling my name for awhile. Both my friend and I sitting close to this area in a semi-filled room, never heard my name and they made no effort to walk the room to find me. Then when I received my meal, my salad volume was less than her and when I opened the sandwich I had a chicken piece the size of my thumb and half that for another small morsel thrown in. We each also ordered the apple with the meal in place of chips or bread. I didn't eat my apple so I just placed it in a small shopping bag. When I got home, I noticed a web attached to the stem of some type of bug? So I am questioning how they store their food and if they are even bothering to wash the food items. I will not order food from their again. I regret not noticing the condition of my apple when I was there and not getting up and complaining about the contents (lack of) in the sandwich I was given. Good service good food! It is a chain so it is hit or Miss whether good food and good service but this is one of the better Panera Bread in the chain. The food is consistent and the portions are healthy and consistent as well. And by that I mean there are other Panera Bread where your salad has four leaves and two pieces of chicken, but this one is not cheap with the portions Update! Since the remodel they havefleas staff and is significantly slower in ordering.they also run out of items like bread,cookies, lettuce etc....

Update 12.14.2020 It looks like the covid allowed Panera bread to really tighten the belts. Pre covid ordered a pick two you got a half a sandwich salad the salad was usually a decent size but now they're putting everything in plastic and that's salad is now one quarter the size of what you used to get. Clear either taking advantage of the situation. Update 10/20/21 It's gotten worse now the portions have been cut in half I ordered a U-Pick too salad and a sandwich before the portions were decent but now the bowl is 5 in tall and the salad only goes up an inch and a half they used to give you a good portion of chicken now it's just three little slices I don't know how this place is still in business.? Oh wait never mind they're right next to the Apple store apples bringing in all...

I wish I could give a negative star! My first impression of the place was that it's pretty much like any other panera. I ordered a Cobb salad through the app and walked over to wait. I sat patiently for 20 minutes before they even bothered to ask me what I was waiting for, and when they did ask they were very rude and made me feel like i was an inconvenience. I finally got my salad after waiting 25 minutes and it was a half salad size even though I ordered a full salad.
