If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Affan Indo-Chinese & Bangladeshi Restaurant in Woodland Park, NJ has quickly become one of my favorite dining spots. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm welcome and excellent customer service. The staff is incredibly attentive, polite, and always willing to explain the menu or recommend the best dishes. Food & Menu Selection The food is simply amazing. Every dish bursts with authentic flavors, and the variety is outstanding. Read moreOn my second visit to this establishment, we were anticipating a more favorable dining experience. During my previous visit, my husband and I opted for the buffet, but the quality of the food left us unsatisfied. Consequently, we decided to give them another opportunity. We ordered beef haleem and mixed fried rice, but unfortunately, the rice was contaminated with tomato sauce. We requested that the waiter modify the dish to beef tehari, and within two minutes, he returned with a small portion containing a few pieces of beef and bones. Additionally, we inquired about the availability of chutney sauce, but the waiter denied our request, stating that it is only served with grilled items. Despite our willingness to pay an additional charge for the sauce, we were not provided with it. Based on our negative experiences, I strongly advise against patronizing this restaurant. I will not be returning to this establishment and would prefer to refrain from assigning any stars to it. In addition to your response, the haleem contained raw ginger. This explains why other reviews indicate that you have an unpleasant demeanor. Why should we have to address multiple issues when the initial problem was not even resolved? It is highly unlikely that you will retain customers with such an attitude. Mr. Tanim go back and see how many negative reviews you have before attacking me personally. It is intriguing how you desire a return while simultaneously claiming that I am writing reviews for points. Regardless of the service I receive, I will undoubtedly provide a five-star rating. Conversely, if I do not receive satisfactory service, I will also leave a negative review. It is important to remember that I am the customer, and my reviews are accessible to others who may be interested in evaluating your customer...

Dining at Have Fun in the Chinese is always a delightful experience. My friend Tanim and his wonderful wife pour their hearts into this place, and it shows in every dish and every detail. The chicken biryani stands out as the star of the menu: rich, aromatic, and bursting with authentic Bangladeshi flavors. It’s hands down one of the best biryanis I’ve had in the U.S.
Their menu offers a perfect fusion, from comforting hot soups and flavorful chow mein, to sizzling grill kebabs. If you’re lucky, you might catch their specials like kalabhuna beef, khichuri, or haleem — all prepared with care and packed with traditional taste.
The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, perfect for both casual dinners and vibrant gatherings. The chefs are top-notch, hospitality is heartwarming, and prices are more than fair for the quality and experience.
Tanim and his wife are more than restaurant owners, they are gracious hosts who treat every guest like family. Their hospitality shines brightest during special moments, like when Miles, one of the most legendary bands in Bangladeshi music history, came to New Jersey for a performance. To honor their visit, Tanim hosted a heartfelt dinner at the restaurant. Sharing a meal with music icons over delicious biryani and warm company made for an unforgettable night, a proud moment for our entire community.
Whether you’re craving bold flavors or a place that feels like home, Have Fun in the Chinese is the spot. Highly...
