I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bengal Spice, an Indian restaurant located in Woodland Park, NJ, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, the customer service was truly outstanding. The staff was attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. One aspect that truly stood out was the phenomenal owner. Their personal touch and dedication to customer satisfaction were evident throughout my visit. It's rare to find an owner so involved and passionate about their establishment, making the overall atmosphere warm and inviting. The food at Bengal Spice was a highlight of my visit. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with authentic flavors that transported me to the heart of India. The menu offered a diverse range of options, catering to various tastes and preferences. The culinary expertise showcased in every bite left a lasting impression, making this restaurant a standout in the local culinary scene. The atmosphere at Bengal Spice was nothing short of terrific. The ambiance was carefully curated, striking a perfect balance between cozy and vibrant. Whether you're enjoying a meal with family, friends, or colleagues, the restaurant's inviting atmosphere adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. A notable feature for families is the ample parking available, making it convenient for patrons to visit without the hassle of searching for parking spaces. Moreover, the restaurant is kid-friendly, creating a welcoming environment for families with children. I also appreciated the cleanliness and organization of the bathroom facilities. It's evident that Bengal Spice places a high priority on maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for their patrons. In conclusion, my visit to Bengal Spice was a culinary journey marked by excellent customer service, a phenomenal owner, delicious food, a terrific atmosphere, ample parking, and a family-friendly environment. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic and memorable dining experience.

My friend has been hyping this place up for weeks so we finally went together to try it (me for the first time - he had it about 12 times in 2-3 weeks). I got chicken Tikka masala (yes, basic, but it's a good control for a new spot) plus garlic naan and a mango lassi (you gotta.). And yeah it was all delicious. The sauce was flavorful, chicken tender, and the rice was a nice mix of yellow and white. I got "medium" spicy which SHOULD be fairly spicy at an Indian restaurant but I think I got the "white people curve" and it was more along the lines of sub-mild (I say this in good fun). That's okay, I'm one of those "give me the Carolina reaper, raw, not cooked" kinda guys. Next time I'll be sure to let them know not to pull punches on the heat. The prices were STUPID. Only 13.99 for an entree??? What is this, 2019? Entrees these days are like 25 dollars easy. If you couldn't sense the sarcasm, yeah they're actually reasonably priced! Its very nice! And the food portions are large (my picture shows HALF of what I got. So imagine a second plate next to it, maybe slightly less chicken. And yes I ate it all. What can I say, I'm a gavone). Staff were friendly and of course my friend who is the "mayor of all towns" was on a personal level with them at this point. They seemed grateful for our patronage, and we are grateful for their good food. I recommend. Put down that pizza slice and get something different. Now, do it now.

The food was AMAZING but the service was atrociously slow. We ordered paneer, chicken tikka masala, garlic butter naan, regular naan, everything was delicious! They greeted us with papadam and 3 sauces on the table with table cloth for free. This made the experience better. I don’t know how everything added up to $70 for two people but I guess that’s how it is. They charged us for water, too, I’d rather just have tap. Mild and medium spicy were not spicy. Comments for the owner: The waiters took FAR more too long before taking our order, to serve us water, drinks, and food. The waiters came by once every 15 minutes. The sign MUST be more visible outside of the store, I could not tell that they were open, the store looked dark from the outside. If it weren’t for Google Maps, I would have never seen this store. The overhead white lighting gave an OFF vibe and it needs more yellow lights on the sides of the room, or different lighting. It’s a shame that such a great food place is so empty on a Saturday evening, it has potential, but the lighting and sign needs improvement! I will be back, only for lunch or takeout.
