Our waiter, Derrick, and our chef delivered great service and that is why I gave five stars on service. We ate there on Monday, December 09, 2024. My daughter's 20th birthday was the occasion for our celebration. She selected the fried calamari appetizer to try, and California spring rolls and then we proceeded to order our meals. While our food was being prepared in front of us, we were not aware that raw calamari had been added to the grill. We were uncertain about its appearance except for the fried version, which was what we were expecting. After addressing the misunderstanding, the manager declined to provide the fried calamari and still charged us for the full calamari dinner, which neither of us consumed. Requesting clarification on which calamari dish we preferred would have been sensible. The manager could have proposed alternatives, such as a charging us for the appetizer or waiving the charge or even a coupon. Given the celebratory nature of the occasion, plus not asked which calamari, it should have been obvious that it was an appetizer because it was ordered first along with the spring rolls. Fried calamari takes six minutes to make and it was not busy at all. Only us and another family of three. It was a Monday so the atmosphere is probably nice on a busier night and food was ok. Was it unreasonable to anticipate a more considerate response? I’m a server at Cattlemens and they are accommodating, but usually only accommodating to the rudest & loudest patrons. I don’t understand rewarding bad behavior. Which made me think if I was loud or rude would it have been different. I’ll never know because I’m not loud or rude. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, as they seem to undervalue repeat customers. I’m not usually a complainer nor do I like writing a negative review, I’ll usually not write the review. However; I left there paying $100 and not a completely happy customer. I will give them credit for the birthday production. I did like that she got a dessert, two workers sang to her and had a big sparkler as a candle. That was all appreciated.

It takes a bit for me to give a 5 star review and this is not the type of restaurant I felt like I would give it too. Simply put I can’t stand fish and big cuts of meat are not for me. So when I was told we were going for dinner at a Japanese steakhouse I thought it sounded like literal hell. I went with a group and we sat at the hibachi grill! Let me just say from start to finish it was a wonderful experience - I was afraid it would smell fishy in there ( I really can’t eat when I smell it) and this was far from the case here, I would never have known they served sushi. Me and my partner shared the hibachi combo - it was plenty of food for two people, but some people at the table had a full one to themselves. We had the chicken and New York strip. The rice is so simply but beautifully seasoned with egg and soya / sesame ? - super tasty We asked for the steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly - super tender for the cut it was, they serve a couple sauces with it. The veggies that were served were also super tasty, carrots, onions, mushrooms and zucchini. The chicken was also perfect! To start they served us a salad and mushroom soup as part of the hibachi deal. Both were tasty and the salad had a lovely dressing. We also ordered a side of spicy Edamame it was plenty full and well seasoned. Aside from the excellent food the entertainment from the chef was first class throwing zucchini for us to catch and pouring stuff in your mouth ( don’t worry if you’re shy they don’t pressure you to do it ) it was overall a fantastic experience. If you had food allergies such as gluten it’s a good spot and they also offer veggie / tofu options!

We came here for a coworkers farewell luncheon. The chef was not super friendly nor skilled. I mean, I can't do what he did, but I have seen more skilled hibachi chefs at other hibachi places, like Tokyo Steakhouse. He didn't listen to my friend who told him "no onions" at least 3 times. I don't know what's her beef with onions, but when he went to serve her, she said "no, I said no onions." He didn't say a thing. Made a little mess of rice pulling it back and left (without a word). He did come back with fresh rice that he quickly heated and served her, but again he didn't say anything. His actions were entertaining though, and I did include some videos somewhere. The food, though, was pretty good. The mushroom soup... I would go there again just for that. It's savory, earthy sweet, delicious. I do wish it had more mushroom chunks. One of the people I was with said they don't even like mushrooms but the soup is bomb. The fried rice was very flavorful and had some delicious chunky zucchini, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots and onions. The scallops were ok. Slightly overcooked, which I noticed as he was cooking them - good flavor though. It's hard to get scallops just right. I was disappointed in the calamari. I was envisioning calamari steak. It was not. But, it was still delicious, fresh and not rubbery. Overall, 3 or 4 stars because you expect the best when you're paying $20-$30 or more for a plate.

My parents live in town and we decided to go visit them and a few family friends. We ended up coming here for dinner at around 8:30pm. When we walked it we were greeted with “Can I help you?” … so we let her know it was a party of 5 . She the asked if we wanted to do regular sitting or Habatchi (when they cook in front of you, flames in the air ect.). We went ahead and did the habatchi seating and their service was just SLOW. There were only 2 groups in there at the time including our group. The staff was just not friendly and they were all on their phones sitting at the bar. I get to maybe is slow , but maybe show some urgency ? I’m not saying hurry up and he’ll me as fast as you can either, but maybe just making offer us water , appetizers? Anyways we ordered eventually, the best part was the guy cooing in front of us, he was great. Aside from ordering habatchi combination dinners , I ordered the “King Roll” I asked if it was fired or what rolls they had that were fried because me and raw fish don’t do well … I get my toll eat the edge pice not thinking much of it and it was raw inside !!! I was a bit disappointed because I specifically asked the server about this and she said yes it’s fried , we had to waiver her down. I asked her if she can just fry it or give me other options and she’s like no, it’s only fried outside . I mentioned to her that why I asked you … she got annoyed walked away and didn’t offer to switch it. She went back to the bag to be on her phone. I can go on on how they didn’t offer us more drinks , felt I had food stuck on my throat . Then they still had the audacity to charge me for the roll, I had to request to have it removed and she still wanted to argue , mind you my tone is super chill and respectful. She was up for an argument and I told her please remove the roll I don’t have to re discuss why you have to not charge us for that $20 roll. Anyways the service sucks, I still felt like it was overpriced and non satisfying. If you’re looking for a great family dinner with great service and non overpriced food , definitely consider another location. Clearly they are paying for their reviews because there’s no way this is even a 3 star restaurant. Lastly as we were walking out, I stopped at the front desk and let them know we just had a horrible experience and how unprofessional everything was the guy was careless. As soon as I mentioned, I’d be doing a review he offered a discount. I said it’s not necessary because we’re not...
