I recently received two Extremely bitter Lattes after having one that was Perfect the week prior. The young male Barista informed me that I must Drink the Espresso within 10 seconds after it was made. Lol! I have ordered & received many Lates over the years that weren't bitter.. and were enjoyed at my leisure. Just the week prior, I ordered one from This Starbucks that was PERFECT after a 5-minute drive. So No!. The concept of guzzling a latte in 10 seconds isn't fact-based. See below Quoted from an article written by a Coffee Shop Owner. Bitterness can be a footprint of many possible technological problems. Most of them (if not all) originated from the knowledge/experience/inattention of the barista. If coffee grind fineness isn't ideal the beverage may be more bitter than usual. Of course, there are many other aspects, which may produce bitter coffee. For a constantly good quality coffee/espresso (in the cup) three main things should work together in harmony: ingredients (water, coffee, milk), machinery (grinder, tamper, filter, espresso machine), and the knowledge/experience/attention of the barista.
Based on your experiences, I suppose that the weak point is the barista (or one of the baristas). As soon as you get a cup of coffee more bitter than usual, simply report it to the manager. And This; A Caffe Latte has two ingredients: Espresso and milk. But the espresso has two ingredients: coffee and water. So a Caffe Latte has three ingredients and they all matter. Firstly, the coffee. The coffee should not taste burnt or bitter, and there's no point in using the milk to mask a bad taste. So bad coffee equals bad espresso, cappuccino, caffe latte, or whatever you are making with it. Water. Yes, water. A good Latte DEMANDS an espresso ristretto or short espresso. A long espresso (more than 1 oz of water per 7 grams of coffee) just adds water to the Caffe Latte. It's like making a Caffe Latte with a short short, then adding a shot of hot water. Yecch. Watered-down coffee can be great, as in Espresso Lunghi, Americano, or just strong coffee. But watered-down milk? Double Yecch. Milk. Whole milk is best, but 2% will suffice, But the technique is a big deal. Cappuccino gets very foamy milk, where the foam makes up about half the volume of the milk. A latte, on the other hand, is designed to put more milk in the glass, so less foam, but still doesn't pour like liquid milk. So if you make a good Espresso Ristretto, and add lightly foamed milk, you will have a Perfect...
Read moreThis Starbucks is not very good at listening. First off I had a cashier that found it difficult to understand my order because her English was not that great. Then she gave me my coffee and forgot tp give me my danish. I went to the pick up counter and told the barista that the cashier forgot my danish and she asked me if I wanted it heated up and I said "no" She shouted to the guy maning the oven for one danish not heated. As I watched him pull the danish put of the wrapper and put it in the oven, I said jokingly to the barista that he's going to heat my danish anyway. She told me maybe that particular danish isn't for me. A moment or two later the guy walks up to me and hands me a WARM danish. I told him I asked for it unheated and I can tell he was a little perturbed but it wasn't what I ordered even though I tried to head off the mistake before it happend. Oh well, I'll stick to my favorite Woodland Starbucks on Pioneer and Main. Those guys are...

Well, that happened today; On my way out the door and due to the fact that I'm clumsy, my breakfast sandwich slid out the bag and landed on the floor - Grrrrrrrr!!!!! Begrudgingly, I go to buy a new one. I tell my story of woe and one of the very nice ladies behind the counter gave me a free replacement breakfast sandwich!!! WOAH!! :) I was pleasantly surprised! So the $5 bill I was going to use to pay for the sandwich, it deservingly found its way in their tip jar. THANK YOU STARBUCKS - WOODLAND! You rock!! :)
Their ice coffee drink is the one I get all the time first thing in the morning. It's got great taste and has just enough caffeine to help me concentrate but more importantly, if I stop drinking it, I get no caffeine withdrawal...
