021122 How ironic is this, been back after the covid issue and tried the steak Burrito suizo and have to admit it was very tasty. Crisp outer shell soft inner shell and not all greasy with over cooked meat. They have added fries to the menu(maybe I just want aware) instead of the rice and refried beans, have it a try... fries week be fries lol. Employees at the bar always friendly and attentive. I raised my review as I feel the meat had a little more flavor than the last time I was here My friend had the regular burrito and had no complaints but he'll eat anything..snort 020120 I tried this place again after many many years to see what i thought. It is a chain and another location in Palatine which I was not aware of. This place is located in a weird location, a strip mall that is behind a Mobil gas station and an Arby's so I am sure many people to not see it due to lack of signage and lighting at night. The parking lot is not huge and a bit risky with Arby's drive thru traffic and the whole strip mall lit up only by the open businesses store front windows.and the entrance can be tricky to find. The restaurant has actually enlarged itself in less then a year ago and now has a dining area and a bar. The downside was the lighting inside, way too bright, the need to put up soft white bulbs. We did have a coupon one entree free with purchase of one with two drinks The staff was very friendly and we were served rather quickly, they do start you out with chips and salsa in case you were wondering My friend got the tacos which you see in the photos and he thought they were good. I got the Chimichanga dinner and it was okay, I personally thought it was lacking in flavor especially in the meat department, it had more of a stewed flavor and very little cheese. I also thought the chimichanga was a tad greasy and the shell had no crunch and was soggy. .I sadly didn't care for the beans myself they didn't have any flavor, I am usually a fan of the beans refried or black. The rice was tasty. . The meal wasn't terrible and because of the coupon it made it better but sadly I feel the prices are a tad high for the food and atmosphere your...
Read moreI recently visited Los Arcos with three friends. My friends had the burritos, quesadillas, and my wife and I had the chicken fajitas. We all thought the food was OK. The service was very good. Our waitress was very attentive to our table.
As for my personal experience, I have had fajitas at numerous Mexican restaurants. It's my go to Mexican food. Los Arcos' fajitas are just OK. There was a great deal of chicken but not enough peppers and onions thus leaving it pretty unbalanced and lacking in that typical fajitas flavor.
But what was a greater disappointment was that this is the first time that I ordered fajitas and it was served without sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes. What we received was the chicken fajitas and tortillas, and that's all. For $23, I would think that I would not have to pay extra for sour cream, tomatoes, and lettuce. This cost added on another $5.
I would recommend that the owners either include these items with the fajitas, or if there is a concern of food being wasted, at least let the customer ask for the additional items but don't charge extra - or just raise the price of the fajitas and include them if it is a cost issue which given food prices, I'm sure it is. But, from my experience, other restaurants include these items with the meal. And, as a customer, it does not leave a favorable impression when it is served without these items and I have to ask for them and, then be charged extra. This isn't meant to be a criticism. I am simply offering my impression as a customer.
Lastly, we were served a small basket of chips and salsa for four people and each additional basket added another $3. I would recommend that for every two people in the party, serve each of them a complimentary basket then charge for each...
Read moreMy family went here on Father's day. It wasn't busy for a late lunch that Sunday. I almost missed the front door as the entire front is decorated with one way window films so inside you can see outside while outside you see the decorations side. It's not a large place but has a long bar and several tables as well as a bench along the East wall with tables and chairs.
Our waitress was nice and informative and took care of our needs.
The food is decent although a bit pricey for the area, although perhaps I think that about most places now. I had the steak Torta sandwich, my son had the enchiladas and my wife had the whole chicken which she shared with my younger son. The wife and I had coke, my son a can of Dr pepper and my youngest had the lemonade. This came out to be just over $70 and with a tip over $80.
The complimentary chips and salsa were good but the boys made short work of them and any extra would cost. My torta was good although a little lacking in the meat. My son must have enjoyed the enchiladas because there was nothing left. The chicken was good as well as we had extra to bring home so I tried it later. I wish we had some of the salsa/sauce they had put out to go with the chicken we bought home.
The rice was fine and the refried beans were also good and I like how they are served in a shell/bowl that makes it easy to eat. My plate was pretty much clean when I was done.
Also be aware that the coupons have conditions like "online order only" so if you are planning to use one, read...
