2 hours of waiting for a mobile pick up order to receive $14.96 worth of chicken. Yikes.
The issues: (that probably will never get resolved because its management/design of the restaurant).
Mobile order area is sandwiched (lol) in a corner, there was at least 30 people waiting around to pick up their food. This caused the issue of people crowding around. They ended up putting the mobile order rack to the side in the dining room, which provided some relief of the nonsensical crowding.
Solution: tear down the wall facing the eating area, and provide racks so that people can wait more comfortably and see orders being wrapped up. Yāknow similar to how an actual fast casual restaurant does it like sweetgreen or shake shack. I would suggest management go on field trips to see how itās properly done. Funky wall art and vibes have impeded the overall flow of the restaurant.
Staffing: god love them, I feel bad for anyone subjected to the horror that is 30 grubhub drivers and idiots like me that did mobile orders waiting impatiently for their food. Also, it looks like grubhub is now having drivers pick up 3-4 meals at a time. So if you are wondering why your food is taking even longer to get delivered, thatās why.
Btw you can get a free drink or milkshake if you write a review, which is probably how they are trying to inflate their reviews on Google. Good job marketing team, well played. š
Finally, the food. Good quantity. Tastes fine. Itās chicken, itās not a Michelin star restaurant so donāt expect perfection.
Looking forward to my Daveās Hot Chicken AI generated management response to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām in search of a new fried chicken place now that BTās has left the neighborhood. I stopped in this afternoon to try Daveās hot chicken. The server asked me what heat level and I let her know this was my first time there and she kindly guided me towards the medium; it was just perfect. The pickles were perfect, the coleslaw was perfect, the sauce was perfect, the heat level was perfect, the chicken and the crunch, and the juiciness were perfect. The bread was very good. And the service I got was excellent. It only took about five minutes for my slider to be ready, the store was very quiet, but still had about 20 people in it on a Monday afternoon. When packing up my order, the server kindly offered helpful tips on which sauce to put on and gave me an extra packet of Dave sauce and pure honey, which I added to the sandwich and it was awesome. I forget the serverās name, but my receipt says I was waited on by Daijon J. She was so friendly and helpful. I really appreciate it. I paid $7.59 for a slider, which is a smallish chicken sandwich. It came to $9 with tip, so I wonāt be bringing the whole family as this is a bit pricey. But I do hope to stop by with one of my kids as a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointing first-time visit. We place an order at 10:30am for 11:30am pick-up. I'm not one to complain, but customer service is important, especially a new business. I arrived a little before 11:30 am. at a Dave's for the first time. I saw the spot for online orders and saw some people standing. After a couple of moments, I went up to ask about my order placed online. The young man told me there is a board with the orders and when they are ready. I stood there looking at the board. Many people poured in, placed orders, and were getting called. Now, with it being 11:48am I approached the counter again to ask about our order, mind you there was no one on line many people standing around waiting for the order and only one name on the board saying their order is ready. He looks at the shelf and says oops here's your order. So apparently, looking at the screen doesn't matter. The food tasted good but at that point was cold after sitting on the shelf.
Update: Bobby reached out from Dave's Hot Chicken to apologize for the service issue and offered a $15 coupon. I appreciate a business that goes above like such! Will give them another try in the...
