Funky Murphys — Restaurant in Worcester

Honestly I wish I could rate this place a zero! I am a BLACK man that has ate out on several occasions at many high end restaurants and I have never in my life felt so discouraged after being at this place. I took my mother here on a Monday evening because I heard from a business partner they have a 10cent wing night and their really good wings.(They don’t even advertise their wing night, ANYWHERE. Not on the website or the menu) Our waitress didn’t greet us at all, she told me “seat yourself” just like that. After telling her we would only be interested in the wings her facial expression changed and she proceeded to ask, “Ok, what are you having for drinks?” After placing our orders of wings and drinks we waited 20 minutes before we were served the food! Your only allowed to order 5 wings at a time so 20 minutes for 10 wings total(2 separate plates) is ridiculous. I understand the place was a little busy but then this is where it gets interesting...As we waited for our food, I start paying attention more and more to my surroundings. As more people come in that are NOT OF COLOR, I being to see how our waitress is more enthusiastic and more friendly towards them. She greets them with a smile and is more polite to them then she was to us when we first came in. She brings our food, says sorry for the wait, then says our wings are “fresh out of the oil”. Literally so hot you couldn’t pick them up or even attempt to bite at. Didn’t offer us ranch or blue cheese with our wings like any other restaurant would have. At this point I’m done with the place but my mother gives our waitres the benefit of doubt so I stick around. We let our food cool down before we ate it, around 10 minutes. During the wait process she didn’t come to check on us AT ALL. We ate our wings and another 15 mins went by she still didn’t check on us. I told my mother I was ready to go and she proceeded to the bathroom to wash her hands. When she came back, the waitress THEN checked on us and asked if we would like anything else. My mom told her, the check. I felt violated leaving that place after that! I beg everyone to please not go to this establishment. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE, they are NOT GOOD PEOPLE. If you have ANY kind of color to your skin, they will most definitely treat you differently then they treat everyone else, ITS VERY SAD to see and say this. I will NEVER step foot back into...

It was my first time going to Funky Murphys and it will be the last. Our server was misguided, judgmental, and condescending. It was an early, not at all busy, Friday evening that a friend of mine, and I went to this restaurant. Our server came to our table and didn't bother to introduce herself or properly greet us. I asked for a bottle of still water to which she replied: "We have Saratoga, and we only sell carbonated bottled water". I then said that I don't drink carbonated water, and also told her I didn't want tap water. I further said, "It's fine, I have a bottle of water in my car, when I leave, I can drink it then". The server clearly wasn't listening and she told me that the patrons aren't allowed to bring bottled beverages in the restaurant. My thought was, it's a bottle of water, Is the restaurant that desperate to charge patrons for water? If the food is good, it doesn't have to focus on selling Saratoga water, now does it. At this point, I was not happy and didn't order any food. My friend decided she would still order food after the uncomfortable exchange between the server and me. She ordered buffalo chicken wings and nachos. My friend called the server and told her the wings didn't taste right; and that she had ordered it many times and it didn't taste right. The nachos were clearly overdone and my friend told her it was overdone. The server's response was: " Well, I'm not taking them off the check". My friend paid the check and left the full plate of nachos and wings on the table. Prior to leaving, we asked to speak to a manager, but there was not...

My friends suggested I treat myself for once because for 14 years I have been working nonstop. I went to your establishment ordered my drinks and wasn't bothering anyone. 2 of waitress were so nice to me. We started talking and they mentioned they need a bouncer and I was interested because I did security so they told the woman with the glasses that I would like to apply for position. She didn't have applications so she wrote it out on a blank piece of paper. I got up to use bathroom and then ordered my last 2 drinks. I got up and went to talk to the other waitress at the end of the bar. Then my Facebook messenger rang and it was one of my friends video chatting me to see how your place of business was. Then out of nowhere these 2 guys (who you can tell were up to no good because they kept getting up every 5 seconds and going outside ) started yelling saying I was taking pictures and I told them I was a cop. First of all I would disgrace my men and women in blue. So they proceeded to tell a lie to the waitress with the glasses on. I showed her my photos and there weren't any pictures of the 2 men. I have never been so disrespected by any one bet her. She took my beer that I paid for and threw it out and told me to leave.
