I'm not gonna be the one to ruin this guys winning streak (i.e. 60 5 star reviews!!!😳) I mean that's amazing! So he gets five stars but he does not get a perfect review. I was having a pretty raunchy day and I was really looking forward to having a tasty burger. What I really wanted was the "perfect" Big Baby but that was all the way up by midway airport and I was not up for that kinda ride. Retro Burger was closed. The McDouble used to be my "go to" for the longest time but since McDonald's changed their buns 😖 and apparently changed their app (it lately takes no form of digital payment from me?!) they're "out". Wendy's is great but I wanted something different. So Hotties came up in the Google search with the above mentioned incredible rating and I figured I gotta give it a shot. There were multiple things wrong with my order and it was a pretty simple order: One hamburger- no tomato. According to the menu, they use grilled onions. Bingo! I'm in. I don't like a lot of cold stuff on my burger so eliminating the tomato and getting grilled onions would make it palatable- at least in theory. The guy was super nice. The place was immaculate. It was also completely empty. "Sunday afternoon at about 2:30 a lot of places are empty" I told myself. ...But a place with 60 five star reviews🤔?
I'll cut to the chase:
I received my burger on what might've been a potato bun...I don't really know. It was a quality bun... or at least it was a couple days ago. No. Nobody can promise you fresh out of the oven buns seven days a week. But virtually any place that serves a burger and has 60 five star reviews 🤨 either grills or toasts their buns. Not this place. So I gotta bite through a large less than soft room temperature bun, cold rings of RAW onion, about eight leaves of iceberg lettuce, a slice of processed American cheese (product?) un-melted. And un-ordered! I thought I said hamburger. It's at least possible I screwed up and said cheeseburger, but that's only one problem in this big picture. Once I made it to the "hot and juicy" part I found the flavor of the burger NOT beef-like😳 So maybe he was having a bad day. I mean I can relate!!!😡
Thank you Mickey's in Oak Forest for saving the day with a rather tasty Big Mickey which I consumed while writing this...

Read moreI was there on their second day. PROS: Exterior: Very clean W/ tables Interior: WOW! Spotlessly clean, awesome, bright and very clean. Service: Beyond great. The young man at the counter had me smiling even after I left. Wait time for food: Only a few minutes and was hot and very well packaged. Food: They have a desert display at the counter that will make you want to order everything. Catfish filets w/ lemon pepper was perfectly lightly breaded and golden. The taste was better than anywhere around. Chicken legs and thighs w/ lemon pepper were also seasoned, golden and very tasty. The blueberry lemonade was the best I've ever tasted. Get a large. You'll won't regret it. I'll be back to try other items soon. Price: Very reasonable. Better than many other new places opening up. CONS: First taste of the fries made Mickey D's taste like raw potatoes. Unfortunately they cool off quick. But still have a great taste. This con is a bit personal. The AC unit at the counter made it a bit difficult to hear other people. My guess is that if your under 70 yrs. old, you might not even notice it. Overall: Do yourself a favor and try them. I promise you won't be disappointed. And make sure to try the...
