EVENT REVIEW - 30 person party
We held a bridal shower at Evviva in Wrentham Sept 2023! We had 30 guests and everything was perfect. Andrew was our host/server/setup help/all the things and he was fantastic. I received compliments from our guests on Andrew as if I got to personally choose him! He was fast, witty, and everything you could want in a server. There were some other great staff members that delivered items to the tables as well. Hands down, staff was fantastic and attentive. Another young woman helped us with the setup, including filling small vases with water, moving tables around, etc. They also asked if we had any requests for types of music but didn't feel the need to change what was already playing. They checked in with us constantly to make sure we had everything we could possibly want and need!
The food on our pre-fixe menu was really good as well. Many, many empty plates. The drinks were delicious and we could order individually from our server, or walk up to the bar.
The space was just what we needed. It was open air, but not a closed off room. This was nice because we had a little bit of general restaurant atmosphere, but still felt tucked away enough to celebrate our bride without yelling over each other.
One of our guests was having some trouble finding her way in due to Patriots home game traffic, and she spoke to a detail police officer for help. On top of letting her loop around, he ended up recommended the Evviva Sprtiz and she loved it.
There were a few different prefixe options at different price points and it was very reasonable for what we received! We ended up spending just shy of 4 hours there and never did we get the impression they wanted us gone. Bathrooms were clean. They provided a high chair for one of our younger guests as well. Overall, 10/10! We had an...
Read moreMyself and my dining companion came here recently on a Tuesday night. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks from the friendly bar person. We ordered the Cauliflower Casserole and a Sausage Pizza as appetizers. The cauliflower dish was interesting and tasty. The pizza was black and charred on the bottom but uncooked on the top middle. We then proceeded to order the Short Rib Risotto and the Chicken Piccata as our entrées.The Short Rib Risotto presentation was very sloppy and the dish was incredibly salty ...we each took one bite and sent it back immediately. The Chicken Piccata and my pasta choice of Orrechiette was served swimming in a pool of oil in a bowl. The chicken was thick and not pounded into a delicate cutlet as it should be.We were so disappointed with our meal that we opted out of any after dinner drink or dessert. To add insult to injury the bartender came over and offered us a free appetizer card for our next visit. Not a manager nor supervisor came over to talk to us about returning our entrée.We got the check and much to our surprise , the Short Rib Risotto was not removed. The check was $176.00 . Three of the four items we ordered were sub standard. We are trying to support local small business but when this happens, there is no reason for me to return. My dining companion and myself have both been in the restaurant industry most of our adult lives. We understand the difficulty of running a restaurant but this was unexusable. On a positive note, the bread and...
Read moreWe in town and saw the opening recently. To be fair I’ll call out the good first. The restaurant is a nice space, parking is easy and we were seated quickly. From then on we ran into some issues both from a service perspective and quality of food. We didn’t get water until halfway through our entree after requesting 3 separate times. We weren’t offered bread even though we saw every other table with it. We didn’t receive grated cheese until almost completion of the entree upon request. On the food side, the eggplant parm my wife ordered was good and she said she enjoyed it. I ordered the veal Parm and without question this was one of the worst I’ve had. There was virtually no bread crumbs and those that it started with quickly fell off. Which left me with a piece and veal and pasta, the veal was far too thick and extremely chewy. I ate the pasta but couldn’t eat more than a few bites of the $25 veal entree. That being said mistakes do happen, servers get busy, things get over cooked and I can appreciate that. But when the manager comes up to me and asked how everything is and I tell him it “not great” and he doesn’t respond and walks away. My waitress never once asked how our meal was either. This is completely unacceptable far beyond any mistake, it seemed that they did not want to be bothered by my problems and intentionally dismissed/avoided any concern. Route 1 has a lot of restaurants so I can’t say we’d have any interest in reliving...
