Blue Moon Mexican Cafe — Restaurant in Wyckoff

Food is INSANELY GOOD no matter what you order. I suggest reservations because it's always packed ( I waited 20 min on a Fri) but well worth the wait. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is for 2 minor reasons: First it's extremely loud and noisy. Awful 70's classic rock was depressing and painful to listen to. I don't know who listens to that garbage but the 15 minute version of Stairway to Heaven I was forced to listen to is cruel and unusual punishment. If that's not bad enough, every time someone announces a birthday it gets even louder when they blast the Beatles "Birthday" song. And I mean ear piercing loud enough to actually make you jump when it cuts in out of nowhere. At least 3 times in the hour I was there but it stopped the bad music for 30 seconds. I could barely hear the person across the table from me talk because everyone else was yelling over the music. I mean it was "club" loud! The other thing is they use enough straws to choke every turtle in the ocean. I asked for no straws and got a fresh one in every fresh drink. Wasn't like I could just not use it because it came in the drink. How about not giving a straw unless asked for it? Would save them a fortune because I was there with 5 people and there were 24 straws used on our table alone! I'm really only posting this for the owners to read hopefully they will make the changes to earn a 5 star because it certainly would get it from me if they did. Food is excellent so I would recommend take out if loud music and louder...

We went to dinner last night and it was quite cold outside, and inside it appeared to be close to maximum occupancy. During this time where Covid cases are significantly rising in our area, we decided it was not in our best interest to do indoor dining. They had the outside capabilities to seat guests because they had heaters and tables, however it appeared those were not in use for some time. It didn’t matter to them because Eric quickly sprung into action and set everything up for us. Laura catered to our every need with excellent service. The food was hot and delicious…we stayed warm and enjoyed our dining in these crazy times. They constantly checked in on us and made us feel very welcome instead of like an outcast. The manager came by on numerous occasions to make sure that the heaters were in full blast, regardless of the cost of propane. It felt like a bit of normalcy for us and I really applaud their passion to creating a diverse environment and commitment to Customer Service. A WARM thank you from me and my family…we will be back multiple times and tell everyone we know about our excellent...

Stay away from this place well all locations seriously the food is very bland and just thrown on ur plate no passion no flavor what so ever as a chef for a living its sad. I actually worked at blue moon for a week and few days and just watched the lack of passion when it came to produce well tatsed dishes. Every time i look at yelp i see the same comments or similar. Bland food and watered-down drinks i would as a manager etc would take customer feed back seriously and not brush it off this place needs a new step in flavor or customer will not come. But what i would say for the most part the wait staff is very good overall. As for.the cooks thats another story i think there just there for a pay check and have no culinary skill what so ever instead they just follow a recipe with that said again everything is bland especially the rice. Tbis place could be so much better if they actually cared about the flavor of the food instead of getting dishes out to customers as a customer i rather wait longer for a dish that taste yummy they.
