I seldomly feel compelled to invest my time giving a review one way or the other when I try a new to me business but I feel a moral obligation to sing praises to all willing and able to listen to bring as much attention as possible to the biggest hidden gem in the greater grand rapids area for those seeking the best choice available for those desiring to find the undeniable, undisputed and hidden gem for the BEST POSSIBLE CHOICE FOR AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD!!!!! I am a self identified foodie always looking to find locally owned and expectations exceeding restaurants throughout West Michigan and I say without a doubt that your experience here at The Great Lakes Chinese Food Company will be positively overwhelming from start to taking care of your tab. Moon who is the energetic, genuine and friendly Momma of the house is sure to get a smile out of even the most reserved customer with her warm and bubbly personality that aligns perfectly with her passion to always exceed even the highest expectations from her customers while noticeably valuing customer satisfaction far before in priority to her profits which made me leave feeling like a part of the family more than just another customer. Best Chinese food in town. I love their fried rice it reminds me of Asian Pho 99 I usually don’t go for egg rolls at Asian establishments cause they are usually bland but THEiR’s IS THE BEST!! i go for the Mg Beef it’s top tier. i love their lunch portion it comes with one egg roll and a crab rangoon. They actually serve more food than Yihi Japan / China Experience in the mall ( the boxes are so small shrinkflation)

The first time i went there i called the wrong number their sister location Hudsonville she reassured me it’ll be okay cause it happens a lot and that location cancelled it with no issues. She brought the food to my car which i thought was so sweet of her, she didn’t need to do that.

Today, i called in and she assured me it’s best to order the dinner portion for the same price i was getting for the smaller portion of Mongolian and an egg roll. It comes with soup ( egg drop, hot n sour, or wonton soup of choice) one egg roll and for dinners fried rice it comes with chicken. And she added a crab Rangoon for me 🥺

We started going to Great Lakes after we moved across the street from them. I absolutely love Chinese/Oriental food so I was skeptical the first time trying them did not want to be disappointed. My wife and I have tried numerous other Chinese resturants and have been sorely disappointed. Needless to say I'm glad we choose to give them a shot it is some of the best tasting Chinese food you can get for the price. We have recently moved and we have 3 other Chinese resturants around us but we still continue to go to Great Lakes. The owners are very friendly and remember my wife and I by name. They only have buffet at lunch but try to catch it when I can. It's a limited selection but they switch it up every now and then. They normally always have Egg Drop Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, Crab Rangoons, Teriyaki Chicken Skewers, Chicken Dish and Beef Dish, Egg Rolls, Fried Potstickers, White and Fried Rice, and Lo Mein Noodles.
