I have been to PAC Brazilian Restaurant three or four times now. As someone with family in Brazil, I wanted to support this business and recommend it to others. Unfortunately, in my experience, each visit has been disappointing.
Most of the time I have ordered the prato feito (Portuguese for “set meal”), which in Brazil almost always includes rice, beans, and the meat of your choice. Here, the prato feito costs $14, yet in my opinion, the portions of rice and stroganoff have been very small, far less than what you would expect for the price. Rice and beans are inexpensive staples, yet it feels as though they are served as if every grain is being counted.
On one visit I mentioned to the owner, Mauricio, that my plate had no beans and very little rice or stroganoff. In my recollection, his response was that if I did not like it, I could go somewhere else. That told me everything I needed to know about how they view customers.
I have also heard from others that the picanha is underwhelming, and based on my own visit, I would agree, it was mediocre at best. The service, in my view, has been average, and every time I have eaten here, the restaurant has been nearly empty. Sadly, I can understand why.
I had hoped to see a fellow Brazilian succeed, but in my opinion, based on the food quality, portion sizes, and attitude, I will not return and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will be waiting for the Brazilian steakhouse opening at Woodland Mall instead.
Update (Aug 15, 2025): The owner claims I “behaved inappropriately” and made customers uncomfortable. That is false. I ordered the lunch special with water (I don’t drink soda), paid cash, and left without incident.
On another visit with a family member, two picanha plates and two coffees totaled over $60, with the same portion-size/value issues.
During my visits, the dining area was empty at the times I visited. My review reflects only my firsthand experiences across multiple visits, so other customers can set...
Read moreSitting here enjoying the Saturday night ambience of this hidden gem. Casual samba music melodically flows throughout the air. A cute Ms. Pac-Man machine awaits its next challenger. Low lighting and wooden esthetic with traditional dining tables and chairs. Kind, welcoming staff eager to greet newcomers with smiling faces and an invitation for homemade Brazillian cuisine.
To start our food journey, we tried the chicken Brazilian snacks and Brazillian empanadas. The delicious flavors complemented each other. Honey when I tell you the CRISPY empanada made us pause, oh my. The cheese PULL from the cheese one, holy wow. I can't. They are doing something right here! So good. Best empanadas ever! We took three more to go home with us for tomorrow.
For the entree, our group split the Special Brazillian Barbecue. Deliciously seasoned Brazillian cut steak, sausage, chicken, sautéed onions, and fries. The flavors were so, so good. The meats were cooked to perfection. This is their most popular dish to share, but they do have the option for a carna asada specialty dish as well that you may find appealing.
We tried the chocolate lava cake and an amazing acai bowl dessert with granola. Decadent chocolate cake with creamy, cold ice cream. The acai blend was the best one, but I only got to have a few spoonfuls of it as others got the best of it first!
It was the perfect ending to what felt like a smorgasbord of incredible dishes. Our meals were served with unique Brazilian beverages, including an imported canned soda, and traditional passionfruit and orange drinks.
Overall, PAC Brazilian Restaurant was a lovely place to enjoy a great meal with family and friends. I would recommend you try the empanadas, Brazillian soda, delicious steak, and don't...
Read moreToday we finally visited PAC Brazilian Restaurant. We drove four hours round trip just to have lunch there.
We started with an order of coxinhas (Chicken bites) and another of pastéis (Brazilian Empanadas). One thing that really caught my attention was that you can customize your pastéis any way you want. They make them fresh, by hand, right there! We had Guaraná Antarctica (Brazilian Soda), ice-cold and delicious.
For lunch, we ordered picanha (Sirlon Meat) with beans, rice, farofa (yuka flour mix), French fries, and vegetable sauce. The picanha was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We also ordered chicken stroganoff, and my husband said it was fresh and amazing.
The restaurant itself is clean, nicely decorated, and very pleasant. It truly feels like a little piece of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, right here in Michigan—for anyone who misses Brazilian comfort food. They also have some really tempting dessert options, but we were already so full! We ended up packing a lot of food to take home.
And, of course, I already knew that later in the day we’d be craving more coxinhas and pastéis—so we ordered extra portions to-go.
We were served by one of the owners, Marquinhos, who was incredibly friendly!
Before visiting, I was a bit confused about what to expect. Even though it says “Restaurant” in the name, I wasn’t sure if it was actually a dine-in restaurant or just a closed kitchen making a few to-go dishes. But yes, PAC Brazilian Restaurant is a real restaurant open to the public, with Brazilian music and fabulous dishes.
They’re open Tuesday through Sunday and only closed on Mondays. Absolutely worth every penny! I truly hope you get the chance to visit...
