Captain D's — Restaurant in Wytheville

I have been to this location on several occasions over the past few years and overall like this store. I even spoke to the District manager about this store and how much it impressed me and how we ll it seemed to be managed. On this most recent visit though ...things were shaky at best. It took forever for a three person order to get from Kitchen to the dining room. I didn't clock it but it had to be at least half an hour. Kudos to the woman that manages this store. I will just assume it's the same manager from my first visit a couple years ago. She did come to our table and apologized for the delay. She gave some weird excuse that their was a demand of orders for Whitefish all at the same time. There wasn't but one other table of 2 guests in the dining room so I will again assume these were drive through orders or perhaps Door Dash. Anyway she offered us free desserts for compensation which we were appreciative of but declined. Honestly In most situations like this one ...all we really wanted was the food we ordered. After her apology and sort of explanation...it took another 15 or 20 minutes. By which time I was pretty upset. Because just like I can spot good management I can see a fail just as well. Something fishy was going on here back in the kitchen. I feel like I should call the District manager for an update or to question what happened to this store?? Well you can't be perfect t all the time but when you see have one visit with superior service and another with such a lag it makes you wonder. On the positive tip the store has maintained its newness and cleanliness. I think it's only 3 or 4 years old maybe. The tables and floors were clean and a well stocked clean condiment bar and drink station!! You don't see this attention to detail in other store locations. I didn't visit the restroom but assume it was just as clean. One other beef is that their is only mobility accessible entrance on the front part of store. I understand why ...it's because that's where the handicap parking spaces are. But if they are full and you have to use side parking there is a huge curb to overcome and no easy step up there on...

My wife and I went in & placed our order and sat down and we sat for atleast 15-20 minutes and we went to the counter and asked about our order and they said they were short staffed. Then after 10 more minutes they brought my order & half was wrong so I gave them my receipt & they took my food to another table and sat it down on another person's table and they said it wasn't there's so then they took it back to the front counter & came asked me what I ordered they had already lost my receipt so I told them what I had ordered and I watched as they picked up my plate up of the front counter and took it back and changed out & put the right sides on it. I've never seen a restaurant run like this before bring you a plate a food and the sides are wrong then they put it on another table in front of other people then set it on the counter in front of everybody ordering food , loose your receipt so you can't call & complain, then have to tell them what you ordered and then them raick the food off your plate and put the right sides on it . No that's just Nasty and...

This is an extremely frazzled experience. Google didn't do a good job at telling me how to get there from the interstate. And when I got there it was just a mess. Meaning there's only one person has counter who's doing drive-thru and the front cashier and delivering the food! They never recommended that I have a senior meal which included what I wanted and what I ordered instead I paid $13 for what I got! When I could have paid only seven! That made me mad. Then when I went into the bathroom they took away my remaining hush puppies which I was going to take home! So that made me mad! They had gotten and another cashier finally. The other person was back in the kitchen cooking a young woman. I always liked the Captain D's because they used to have a buy one adult meal and get two kids meals free when my kids were little so I always go whenever I can find one. We don't have them in our state.. the place is nice enough. It's hidden sort of from the interstate and Street up...
