Kobe Sushi and Teriyaki — Restaurant in Yakima

I'm probably writing this a little too soon but I need this as a little therapy. I went to Kobe on suggestion from an artist that I met locally that me help me with something spectacular. She is definitely a special person and I took her advice with great respect. This is the first time I've ever had sushi even though my neighbors are both Japanese and have created meals for us as a family. Only met a few people at the restaurant but they were all wonderful people. One in particular was my server and I actually didn't get her name but she had Beautiful blue hair so it's hard to miss. The food was presented excellently ,she was very helpful and informative and it was delicious. I don't really have a frame of reference for sushi but the other stuff I got was great. In the midst of my meal I got some terrible news and had to step out. I asked her to take my credit card so she didn't think I was ditching. And I needed the stuff boxed up. I dealt with things to the extent I could and went inside and it was carefully laid out for me with the bill already ready. She understood what was happening just with my facial expression and offered some consolation as well as a hug when I ask her for one. Things like this have only been happening to me fairly recently because I've finally allowed myself to be open to the world. And I now see that there is good almost everywhere as long as you look for It. Whether this place is more than a sushi joint I don't know but it was what I needed at this moment in time. I hope I can go back under better circumstances and not have ptsd eating sushi from now on😑. I don't expect these people to be therapists to everyone walking in but the food is definitely great. My only suggestion would be to not have t v's going for the customers to see it because it's very distracting from the family experience. Allow others to disconnect and connect at the same time. 10/06/2021 (5 Stars) Brought my wife for a late dinner (her 1st time here - my 2nd). Enjoyed another wonderful meal. Wife was amazed at all the items that she wants to come back and try. She talks about ordering ahead for a lunch pickup.

I think we have found another " go to" restaurant in town.

30 Aug 2021 - (10+ Stars) I HATE Sushi, until I had Sushi here. I'LL BE BACK!

I had the Coconut Shrimp Appetizer: Different preparation then I've ever had before. I enjoyed this very much. Would get it again.

Seattle Roll: Oh my gosh. My wife and adult kids will be amazed I even tried a Sushi Roll, as I've NEVER ENJOYED this type of food before. When we have gone out for this type of cuisine, I ALWAYS get a teriyaki item as they have me sample their food - one taste was always to much. My main issue has always been the nori (seaweed) flavor, texture and taste in the rolls. This location has MANY options for Sushi without the nori, they use a Soy Paper. OUTSTANDING flavor, texture and taste. I was SOOOO excited to try this type of Sushi I bypassed my normal (default) menu items in this type of restaurant. Was SO GLAD I DID.

Chocolate Molten Lava Cake, dessert: Very enjoyable and great sized item.

The service here was Extremely Good (and especially helpful) when working with someone who knew NOTHING about the food.

The prices were very reasonable.

The restaurant and bathroom was very clean and well kept.

I WILL BE BACK with my Sushi loving...

This place is not worth one star. It is gross!!! This was an online order/pick-up. When brought home, the sauce was missing for the spicy chicken appetizer which tasted like something I should have been feeding to my dog, and the Pad Thai was missing tofu not to mention the chicken tasted like it had been marinating in fish sauce for a few days ( I could not even eat the meal and I love Pad Thai!) When I called, after speaking to two managers, they insisted everything was put in the order because they packed it, that nothing was wrong with their food and if I wanted something done to bring the food back. The managers were rude and not helpful, the conversation was not at all congenial, courteous, or customer service based, and absurdly enough one of the managers hung up on me just to end the phone call(I showed respect the entire time). Bottom line, this place sucks in...
