I have shopped Grocery Outlet starting at their former location when they were just opening for the first time. I dislike Costco and Winco because they have so many people, you can't find a place to park and getting checked out is a nightmare. I don't have this problem with Grocery Outlet. Sure, there are some items that might be spendy or maybe the same at other stores. But over all their prices are much cheaper and there are times you can find things you can't find any place else. They hire a diverse group of people to work there and no one has ever been rude or racist, but I guess if one is touchy about skin color, they can easily think they are being discriminated against. I find the checkers to be friendly, thoughtful and helpful. It's a pleasure to shop there. I can get in and out without long waiting lines and driving around fighting for a parking spot. This place used to be a “bargain” market. Literally says so on all the advertising but the prices aren’t any better than Safeway and at least Safeway isn’t trying to sell expired stuff on the shelf. Some of the ladies are obviously miserable and it shows. I hate to stop supporting local small businesses but it’s not worth it to shop there and get nearly expired food for the same price or even MORE than bigger chain grocery stores. How do you call yourself a bargain market selling expired food for the high prices as other markets?! And really poor customer service. There was one guy who worked there and was great but he’s gone.
