Station Donuts makes the best donuts in Yorba Linda, possibly in the world. I wouldn't call myself a doughnut connoisseur, exactly, but neither am I a doughnut johnny-come-lately patron. You could say I'm a well-seasoned doughnut-diner with decades of doughnut eating experience. I have had doughnuts from hundreds of doughnut shops from around the world, and have, over time, developed a fairly refined doughnut palette. When i first came to Yorba Linda, I searched for two types of eateries: taco stands, and doughnut shops. I wasn't looking for a single shop that served both. I was looking for the best Orange County had to offer in both categories. I have spent the past 15 years crawling the county in search of the best of both. I'm still looking for that great taco stand. I have been successful in my search for the best doughnuts, and as luck would have it, those delectable pastries are right here in YL.
Fresh doughnuts are a must. Doughnuts don't keep. Many doughnut shops will keep their doughnuts around for days until they're sold. At Station Doughnuts, no such store-until-stale goes on. The doughnuts are always fresh. They are light, but not airy. Each doughnut is uniquely satisfying, on the tongue, and in the belly. And Station Doughnuts offers quite a variety, including specialty doughnuts that many might regard as downright odd, but give them a try, and I think you'll agree, even the unusual doughnuts are deeply satisfying,
All Station's doughnuts are uniquely satisfying. They aren't oily, or too sweet, nor too heavy, nor do they taste of cheap ingredients. The quality goes into their making, and you can taste that quality the very first bite, and every bite after the first one.
I've heard folks rave about other doughnut shops in the area. I've tried their donuts. They're good. Not as good as Station's, though, not in my opinion. Some shops think that just because they make a strange doughnut, that it somehow makes them higher up on the doughnut culinary ladder. "Different" doesn't mean "good," & I've found those other shop's unusual doughnuts over-thought and under-executed.
Despite the odd name of the shop (I don't know what they're talking about "Station." What "station?" There's a non-functioning rail car nearby. Are they the station for that? A station for the stationary?), I don't think there are any better doughnuts in all of O.C.,...
Read moreLOL. In response to the owners reply. Here is the REAL timeline: We placed an order the week of 8/26 for pickup on 9/7. On 9/6, I called to ask if we can change the pick up date to 9/16 because of Covid outbreak . The woman said, yes ok. We were informed by the school that we can’t start until 9/20 on Monday (9/13). So TODAY 9/14—48hrs before we asked to change a second time. Not multiple. TWO times. Also, I agree with previous reviews about price gouging. These said donuts are $42!! We were asking to change pick up to 9/20 but since you chose not to accommodate, a refund is in order. And thanks for validating my review about the terrible customer service!
Ihurts me to write this because I've been a loyal customer for nearly 7 years and I want small business to succeed.
This review is about the customer service at station donuts. I have driven out my way to go service this particular donut shop on many occasions---I live in brea and work in a different direction. I love the custom work and the donuts are some of the best I've tasted. However, the repeated rudeness is just something I can't handle. Two weeks ago, I ordered custom back to school donuts for my daughter's preschool teachers. Unfortunately her back to school date changed twice due to a covid outbreak. Today my husband stopped in to ask to change the date for a second time, however that same women behind the counter was rude and gave a refund because she didn't want to deal with him.
I'm not sure why this woman lacks empathy or basic customer service skills as I've also encountered her rudeness. My husband and I are both 'essential' workers and have seen some terrible things over the last 2 years yet still don't treat people the way this woman does. I'm not sure if we don't look the way she wants us to...in any case, despite a great product, we unfortunately won't back back again. PS the UNAC donuts for Kaiser Anaheim that you posted on your IG account, Ill be sure to put in a word with the union to service a shop that actually cares for ALL of their...
