I must tell you, this morning's visit was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Upon arrival, we were not acknowledged for nearly 5 minutes. There was an older woman, who seemed to be assuming a "manager" role while bossing around 1 young girl. I finally spoke up and asked if we can be "put on the list" that they were calling names from. Noticing at least 2 booths for 2 empty, I figured it would be a short wait but was sadly mistaken. Nearly 15 mins passed, still booths empty. We were finally sat, the waitress arrived within 2-3 minutes and advised she would be our waitress and said "ya ready yet?" We placed our drink orders and inquired about the size of the pancakes, which we were told "the size of the plate," so we clarified the plate size and were advised accordingly. We ordered simple meals (two pancakes with a side of Corned Beef Hash (on the menu as "corn beef hash") and Eggs Benedict) and waited nearly 20 minutes for them. A runner brought them and the waitress was unseen again (at our table, anyway. She did visit other tables in the vicinity and even stopped for about 3 minutes to look at a book with a patron near the "bar" area) until I had to ask a hostess for the check. Not once did she ask how our food was (which, by the way, was mediocre at best, cold pancakes and not full poached eggs) or if we had any questions. The check was plopped on the table and she walked away. I proceeded to the cashier to pay and was FINALLY asked (by the original hostess) if everything was good. I told her "No, not at all" she said "oh. sorry" and handed me my change. Another hostess, standing there wearing all black, short with dark hair said "what's the problem" to which I addressed my concerns. In the most rude, condescending tone she quips "wow. i haven't heard anyone else complain all day" as if my concerns were invalid and uncalled for. I again advised that the service was poor from beginning to end and the food wasn't even up to par. She said "well next time you have a problem, tell us before you pay." I was floored! NEVER have I ever been treated like that by someone when addressing a concern. I mentioned it was a completely different environment next door, and she said "haha two different restaurants, probably." I'm not one to complain, just chalk it up to a bad day and give it another go some other time. Not here. We're regulars at Great American Saloon and bring family and friends to that restaurant with every visit they make to town. It's our go-to place for good food and great service. Lion's Pride failed us and it did so miserably. We'll question our visit to this entire establishment now, with so many dining options in this county, you'd think concerns were addressed with dignity and compassion, not rude condescending attitude...
Read more4/14 My boyfriend, my mom and I went in the morning probably around 10ish. The wait wasnt very long but the people seemed like they were in a rush everywhere. The girl just sat our menus down and ran off. Then we ordered our food, I got chipped beef over everything (including the potatoes). Well there was barely any chipped beef on my plate, my potatoes were cold in some spots and I ordered a side of ham. My ham didnt come out so I asked for it. It took 10 minutes, 10 MINUTES to come out. I was finished my meal by the my ham came out. Then my boyfriend ordered the sampler. He asked for the sausage gravy to be over everything. It didnt come out over everything. We were charged for it. So I mentioned something to the waitress. She told us that we should have said something. I shouldn't have to say anything the meal should come out they way we ordered it. So the manager took that charge off. Our waiter didnt have a good attitude at all. She seemed grouchy and that she didnt want to be there. We usually have good service but this morning truthfully sucked. Definitely double guessing on if we should...
Read moreFood was good. Service at the end was horrible. My husband got one last refill and apparently that cup of coffee was boiling hot. So hot that he burned his mouth and has a blister on his lip and his tongue is very sore. The cup itself was to hot to even handle and the waitress said "it's coffee it's supposed to be hot." It is not meant to be boiling hot. Check your temperatures on your coffee if it is above 160 to 185 degrees it is too hot and risks burning someone. This was scalding hot, quite literally scalding. The coffee being served was at first at temp and drinkable. The last cup severely burned someone. She went up to my daughter while she was paying and said "I wasn't trying to be rude" so she admitted she was rude, knew she was rude and didn't care my husband was burned, just tried her damndest to make us look stupid. We were trying to warn her that the coffee was overly hot. To the point it was not drinkable like the other 3 cups we had before and burn someone to the point of blisters. Our waitress...
