My honest opinion??? Is…. No. No. No. Who owns this place? Because - buying frozen Michelinas or Stouffers from Food Lion and baking it at home looking for quick and easy is as good if not better. An Italian Restaurant should be authentic or at least try… . This is an insult to bad Italian food. Id rather make some grocery store jar sauce a day or so ahead at home and throw on some Mueller’s noodles and save time, a tip and risk of food poisoning. It could be so much better! Cheaper ingredients than Wholesale Foods /US Food Truck if the passion was there to give York County some real Italian food. .. you think “ Italian Garden= Italian food? No .. it’s like Hamburger Helper level with no love. When I think of Italian food, there has to be passion in the flavor.. some effort … just in a simple salad .. I’d hate for mamaRicottas Chef to taste this food. Prices are similar btw… but its soooo good.. God forbid Gordon Ramsay walk in the place.. I’ve tried a variety from the menu several times.. trying to find something edible. - the salad is what you’d expect in kindergarten class. Just iceberg, ICEBERG?? In an Italian restaurant??? And then there’s that pitiful 1/4 slice of a distasteful tomato, maybe a slice of a bland dried refrigerator burnt cucumber and some damp soggy cheddar if requested .. then it’s all spread out on a plate like jail food. The chicken ordered on anything ( a main salad, Alfredo etc) is dry like tree bark; burnt with fake grill marks. The baked lasagna taste like Chef Boyardee in a dish (and I know is microwaved and tossed w cheese in the oven a couple seconds) .. cmon.. now.. Pizza Hut has better flavored pasta selections and it’s frozen in a bag before dumped in a pan and slid on the conveyer chain through the pizza ovens.. If you want good food .. but their schedule kinda sucks - check it- But I think Garden Cafe has the best food selection and best flavor in York. Mexican food is definitely Charandas or the restaurant off Cherry Rd in the old bank. Lol I...
Read moreOur first, and last, visit here was very disappointing after reading the reviews. I am a big fan of hometown, mom and pop businesses but this left me with no desire to go back. My rating is more for service than the food although their idea of a salad (for an italian restaurant!) is lettuce and tomato and NOTHING else. I ordered the chicken alfredo and the chicken was hotter than the alfredo and both were just mildly warm. My daughter ordered the chicken parm sandwich with fries and they forgot to bring the fries. We had to ask for them. My bread came half way through my meal. Not ONCE did anyone check on us or ask how our meal was. Their only visit was to refill our drinks. When paying our bill only then did the person ask if everything was alright, My response was, "no, not really". She never asked about or addressed my comment or concerns. She sealed my decision not to return when she replied with a disinterested head nod and an under-the-breath comment with something like "yeah, it happens". ??!!? They really didn't seem interested in providing...
Read moreGotta say, it was just alright for me and the wife. I had the beef and chicken souvlaki, came with a Greek salad, Greek potatoes and pita bread. Also had a side of Greek Baklava. Wife had the eggplant parmigiana. The beef tips (Souvlaki and Baklava) and chicken was beyond well done and on the tough side, kinda hard to chew. To me beef tips should never be cooked more than medium. Greek salad was really nothing more than a little lettuce and some dressing. Greek fries were just normal French fries, no spices except salt on them at all. The eggplant parmigiana was good but the eggplant was sliced so thin, you didn't get much of it, but the flavor was good. Portions were decent. Staff was super friendly and I never saw the bottom of my tea glass once, always a plus! If I go back, I'll try the pizza and a sub which I hear are really...
