Joe's Pizza Plaza — Restaurant in York

Been driving by this place every day on my way home from work, and it looks a little divey, and old fashioned (sign out front boasts that they have air conditioning for your comfort). Finally decided to give it a try & ordered a "works" pizza, along with a veggie stromboli from them for take out. Both were very good. Healthy amount of toppings, and a decent amount of cheese (pizza could have used more, but I'm a cheese fiend when it comes to pizza). Stromboli was excellent with good cheese in it, along with lots of veggies. The whole family loved the food. So food is very good here. It's an old style place, where they cook right behind the counter, where people are sitting and eating their meals. They ahve limited seating, so not sure how well it would work to dine in, but there were several individuals eating at the counter. The ladies making the food & serving it up seemed very pleasant, albeit a very brief conversation. I would definitely recommend Joe's Pizza Plaza, especially if you are looking for take-out. It works well & you'll have good food. Should also mention that I think they are cash only, no credit cards. Luckily, I had enough cash with me when I picked up my order. Normally, I use credit cards & carry very little cash. Need...

Was home in Pa for the week and of course had to go to one of our all time favorite places for dinner one night. How disappointed we all were is an understatement!! One of our favorites is the breaded mushrooms, Joe's used to serve the BEST...this time, we couldn't even eat them, the breading was falling off of them and it actually looked like someone sat on them or stepped on them, they were so smooshed in the bag. I can't believe they actually would sell something like that! The bun that they served the round steak on could have killed someone if you hit them with it, it was that hard. The stromboli was soggy. The ham boat was definitely not as good as it used to be. On a positive note, the chicken tenders and the cheeseburger sub were good. Our family has been going to Joe's for at least 30 some years, long enough that some employees knew us on a first name basis. This visit, Nina didn't even acknowledge my dad! Unfortunately, as sad as I am to say this, we will not be going back. I am not sure what has happened, but you all need to go back to the way you used to be...the Joe and Nina that we all knew and loved back in the day would...

5 stars all across the board for this restaurant. Reason why my review is straight 10/10, due to my experience with everyone that works there.

I was pregnant and couldn’t do cold deli meats, I only could have them heated up prior but it still made a warm sub, with them I always got my cold sub and my meats heated. I loved me a cold sub. They always took the extra time and consideration, without making me feel like an inconvenience for special request. They put a lot of love into the food and made it absolutely amazing every single time. They was the ONLY sub place that has done this for me and thanks to them I got to have a cold sub during pregnancy that was safe.

Much love and I will never ever forget it....
