My wife and I went to SoCo Grille today for lunch and we were not impressed. To start we were greeted promptly and sat at a clean table. The atmosphere is clean and very nice for the space they have. They have a few TVs on the wall while some music was also playing. The menu was easy to read and most of the options sound good. My wife went with the Southern BLT and asked for the roasted Red Pepper Bacon Jam to be replaced with Mayo and a side of Pasta Salad. While she did enjoy the sandwich, they did not put the Mayo on it instead we were informed they put an Onion Jam on it. She ate half the sandwich and was full, so we just brushed it off. The pasta salad had what she explained as a Greek style dressing but with the addition of large pieces of cucumber and squash it was watered down and did not have much flavor. I went with the Southern Chicken Club Wrap with a side of Cucumber Salad. The wrap was not bad, but it did not come with the Avocado or the Sriracha Mayo and instead of Pickled Onion it was full of raw red/purple onion. The very small portion of cucumber salad I received was just a few large slices of cucumber and a few carrot slices and was too sweet for what I am used to. At around $10 a plate I did not expect a large meal, but I would expect to get what I ask for or what is displayed on the menu. I am hoping that this was an off day, and I will probably give them one more try, but I doubt my wife will be returning with me. As a side note according to my wife and a group of ladies at a near table the ladies bathroom door must be “man handled” to get the door to...
Read moreMy wife and I had been considering dining at this restaurant for a while, and we finally decided to give it a try. The place wasn’t crowded, but it had a pleasant ambiance. Our server, Maria, was excellent—despite being new, she was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and ensured we had everything we needed. Overall, the service was great.
Now, onto the food. We started with loaded fries, which were fresh and made from homemade potatoes. They were topped with brisket that was juicy and flavorful—a promising start to our meal.
For our entrées, my wife ordered smothered chicken, which came with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The mashed potatoes, though homemade, were bland and slightly cold. The mac & cheese had a decent flavor but was grimy in texture, making it unappealing. I opted for the hamburger steak, but it, too, lacked flavor. The sauce tasted like something out of a pre-made mix—thin and uninspired. My mom, who joined us, ordered the meatloaf, which was disappointingly mushy and lacking consistency. The accompanying sauce tasted watered down, as if diluted to stretch the batch. She also had a side of mashed potatoes, which suffered from the same lack of seasoning.
Overall, while the service was commendable, the food was underwhelming. Given our initial curiosity about this restaurant, we were hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, the meal fell short, and while we’re glad we tried it, it’s unlikely we’ll...
Read moreWe went to SoCo Saturday August 9, 2025 for crab legs. When our server brought out the crab, there were three crab halves, (only one claw) some potatoes, and a two inch piece of corn....(when she told us about the crabs, she said it comes with potatoes and corn on the cob). When the food arrived, I noticed the two inch piece of corn on the cob. I jokingly asked, where is the other two-thirds of my corn on the cob? She said, they normally put two or three pieces on there but the owner took the night off for his wife's birthday so the kitchen is slacking. Oh really now, I said to myself....I love corn on the cob. I said, well ask the kitchen to stop slacking and add another piece or two. She came back and said it would be $3.00. Are you serious? You want to charge me $3.00 for something that is supposed to be on my plate to begin with?? Her response, I asked and that's what the cook said...I want to say one of the cooks name sounded like Quan. So, either the server was wrong and/or the cooks were wrong. Either way, customer service goes a long way and when the server tells you it's normally two to three and then the cook wants to charge $3.00 per piece.....no thank you. So the cook could potentially run off a new customer over a piece of corn on the cob..... unacceptable...
