I never do this sort of thing but here it goes:

Up until May (now November) my family and I had frequented this establishment religiously for years despite the customer service and "good vibes" atmosphere declining consistently and gradually to the point of virtual disrepair. The food was too good and the espresso was amazing!

The overall lack of cleanliness/downright filth was another factor I willingly overlooked. Again- the food was great. The espresso was on point!

But my last visit was my last visit. Rude. Nasty. Sour. Three words I'd use to describe my last visit to St. Joe's.

There is no food so outrageous; No espresso so magnificent; No fried dough ball rolled in powdered sugar so satisfying that it's worth starting your day off with such negativity.

There are too many good spots to get fresh coffee and espresso within a two mile radius to have to put up with scowling faces and abrasive interactions...

From out of town, stopped in off of 95. I'm not a dunkin drinker and I enjoy finding local shoppes. Found this and was excited to see there was a lil sign at the register for CBD oil to be added to your beverages. I thought that was awesome lol I of course did it. The line was long (out the door, but that's a good sign to me) but it didnt take long for me to get my drink once my order was placed. The layout of the place makes it seem cramped but theres a lot of seating after the register. The only thing I truly didnt like was how to look at the drink menu I had to stare at a sign through a crowd of people and I'm pretty sure some lady thought I was looking at her and her husband 😅 it's high in a wall but I'm only 5'2 and it was just a little uncomfortable. Either way, made out with a great...

I'm a local and been frequenting St. Joe's for about 5yrs. Food is awesome and coffee is great too, high quality assembled with care. Unfortunately I've recently been becoming more aware of a serious issue in the unhappiness and even disrepect going on behind the counter. Sour faces, short comments, just all around a really bad vibe from the staff. I want to love Joe's but it's become more of a place I try and get my food coffee and get out as quick as possible with minimal interaction with the staff. I'm not the only one to feel this way, as I've heard it from other locals and some have just stopped going all together to avoid the negativity going on back there. Nobody wants to start their day with someone...

Amazing coffee shop. I love my espresso and am very picky. The espresso here is well roasted and smooth, but sported an odd and unpleasant aftertaste. The breakfast menu options are on point. I ordered a ham & swiss biscuit, which was a ham and carmelized onion omelet with swiss on a toasted biscuit. It was delicious. Best breakfast sandwich i've had in a while. The shop is cozy and inviting. Ample seating and a small outdoor patio. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Smiles all around and answered all my questions. Lots of coffee options and a busy spot at 7am. Speedy friendly service. Other then the espresso aftertaste, a visit I very much enjoyed. I will most certainly return.

Cute little place we stumbled upon on our way to Hannaford's. We got two flavored iced coffees (flavors are brewed in) and it was honestly one of the best coffees I've ever had! It was a homemade Irish cream decaf with oatmilk. We also got two breakfast sandwiches; ham and swiss (they were out of swiss but the cheddar was an exceptable and tasty replacement). My partner got the 3 Hail Marys, which had bacon, jalapenos and this tiger teeth cream cheese which was scrumptious. Dessert for the kiddos was their homemade bennies with blueberry sauce dipping. Excellent place. Highly recommend. And we will be going back on our way to York's Wild Kingdom!

If you are a normal Starbucks customer looking for your fix on vacation this is your spot. Coffee, Latte, and Mocha prices are cheaper than SB and hit a bit better. That might also be because of their Bennies. Hot, powdered sugared, and with a choice of dipping sauce. When in Maine it's blueberry for me. Fried dough clouds from heaven. Paired nicely with my caffeine choice of the day. This will be my morning ritual while I am in the area. ***Update*** I've been back several times since the post above. You also need to grab a breakfast sandwich is you want savory over sweet. St. Joe's still remains my #1 coffee stop in the Kittery/York Area.
