TERRIBLE SERVICE! I am a student at Eastern Michigan University and out of my 5 years attending this school, I had never had problems with customer service UNTIL TODAY. This year, EMU had made an app where people with meal plans could order from the app and pick it up when they get there. They have a scanning system where when you get to the restaurant you can scan the QR code from the app and then they will get your order. I had ordered a little bit early so I was expecting to wait anyways. The employees AND manager both saw me scan my phone. They turned around, looked at me, and then went back to working. I thought that they knew that I was the one who scanned with a mobile order. So I went over to the waiting section where other people were waiting for their food. I heard my order name said by a few employees but they never brought over the order. I have a pretty recognizable name so I was sure that they would be able to understand that. I waited 5, 10 15, then 20 minutes and still no order! I watched people that were ordering in person get their food in less than 5 minutes. I heard from the back of the kitchen that they "needed more communication!" and the manager seemed to just blow off that request. Finally, after waiting all that time, I went up to the scanner again and scanned the app. Then, they all turned around and asked me for the name of my order. It almost felt like they were mocking me because within that entire time I waiting, they all had seen me standing there in the waiting section. I said, "The name's Neil for the order." An employee gave me my order and as I started to walk away I heard, "Oh Neil? Like Neil Armstrong?" as they proceeded to giggle about it. This is something I have been picked on my entire life for and to just be mocked over my name and their lack of attention, I was fuming. This is TERRIBLE SERVICE and EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY needs to start checking who they hire in to work their restaurants. Very unacceptable in my book. They don't know who they are serving and how their words/actions might affect other people. I would not recommend this place to anyone....
Read moreA few weeks ago I walked in to get food at 7:20 pm even though they close at 7:30. I could tell that the animosity was strong by the way Dan (the manager) was speaking to me. Right when I was about to order food, a man in front of me and his son had ordered maybe 20 sandwiches. Dan's frustration was apparent when he rolled his eyes. By the time I ordered it was maybe 7:25. I was stated that it would be 30-40 minutes because "those guys in front of you just ordered the whole menu". I had nothing but time so I proceeded to order.
While im still waiting on my food, 2 students walked up and ordered 20 sandwiches. The manager completely lost it. He was being super sarcastic and rude saying "well thanks for not allowing me to tuck my kids in tonight" and telling his staff "well I guess we're getting out late tonight". Mind you, everything he has said, he did in front of all the customers.
By 7:29 another student approached wanting to order ONE sandwich. The whole time, Dan was trying to talk him out of it by saying "you're going to be waiting for an hour" and "are you sure you want to wait". Read moreI walked up at 2:29pm (I guess they close at 2:30) on a Friday after reading online they weren't closing until 10pm. They took my order.. and said I would be fine cause they were dropping their last set of nuggets. They then changed their mind and said they would only be dropping the customers before me and that they would refund me my money. It's VERY frustrating that they could not accommodate me. And then a manager (Dan) pokes his head out and says why are you still taking orders very rudely. Ive gone to chic fila in almost every state and I've never been treated like that or not accommodated, maybe they shouldn't have put it at Eastern but somewhere else that can stay open past 2 o'clock on a Friday and THE MANAGER DAN should be aware of customers standing there before he makes unnecessary rude comments.
