Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Ypsilanti

I am usually a huge fan of this location and Sweetwaters in general but my recent experience was so terrible I will not be returning. Despite placing our order on the mobile app so we could quickly grab coffee while we ran errands my boyfriend and I waited over 40 minutes for our drinks. The staff had to be reminded that we even placed an order as they made the orders of people who arrived at the store 10-15 minutes AFTER us. Once we finally got our drinks after 40 minutes they were out of straws for the size drink we ordered and the drinks were so full that we couldn’t even drink our coffee for fear of spilling it all over the car. I found out this Sweetwaters location opened less than a week ago and it already provides the appearance and feel it has been here & belonged here for quite a while.

The atmosphere is great! Different seating is available depending on group size (large table in front, smaller everywhere else), a comfortable amount of windows that provide an almost outdoor feel with the comfort of an indoor climate.

More importantly, the Batista's and products here are top notch. I've only tried a few of the drink items and I've found it hard to leave not absolutely satisfied each time. It’s about time Ann Arbor learned to share Sweetwaters...

Honestly, I go to this location about three times per week. Almost none of the rewards or deals on the app are applicable and the owner took away the student discount. Since this isn’t a “corporate store” the owner makes his own prices and rarely does discounts for students despite being located on a college campus.

Response to the owner: I’ve been told by three of your employees in the duration of the past 4 months that you stopped giving the student discount (in person, not through the app obviously.) I don’t know of any other discounts or promotions your store carries other than the promoted drink...
