Hadn't been to Rico's in over a year. Sorry we went today. Slow to be greeted, slow to get drinks, super slow to get food. The food delivered to our table was incorrect (chicken burrito instead of chile relleno burrito) and, despite telling the manager up front that we did not want rice and beans inside the burritos, one was served with rice and beans inside the burrito and as sides. (Probably charged extra, too. ) One of the items was not even what we ordered. Burrito was goopy, impossible to eat with hands. Two burritos ordered. One served on a plate with a fork, one served in a basket with no fork. Go figure. Manager did not check back soon enough. Part of one burrito tasted/ smelled like its ingredients had sat in a refrigerator too long. Will not return. Juan: Sorry, buddy, but you need to come back. Service and quality is way down when you aren't here, new...
Read moreKeep giving Rico’s a 2nd try, over priced and is 90%of the time you don’t get what you order. Today I gave the place another chance. Called in my food. Was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Showed up and waited an additional 20 minutes before I received my food. $28 and 40 minutes later I left with 2 tacos being wrong, a super nacho.... that wasn’t super to say the least, and a quesadilla that looked like something a 4yr old would have made. Did not receive guacamole for any of the items (that you are charged for), no jalapeños or pico on the nachos. And the asada tasted like dog food. This place’s standards and quality have gone too far down hill for me. This place use to be good, cheap, and fast. And was worth at least 4 stars for the area. Barely...
Read moreThought I'd lost Rico's - didn't realize they'd simply moved - and today I found them. Had the best verde sauce on enchiladas that I've ever had. Hot. Freshly made. Delicious. Rico had the best food truck in the area some years ago before turning off the engine and moving into a small building in Yreka. I had many dishes there, all good, particularly the carnitas burrito (my husband swore by the soft tacos...). Now in a somewhat larger restaurant setting just off the central Yreka exit behind the gas station, Rico amd his family are still cooking up a storm. If today's first meal in their "new" digs is any indication, the food is still excellent and I'll be back...
