Awesome place, and way underpriced. It's an excellent deal, and you should definitely visit. It's an amazing museum with tons of exhibits covering numerous time periods throughout the history of Siskiyou County. The exhibits are full of excellent information and are located on two levels both indoors and outdoors.

Outdoors there is a paved path, and indoors there is a seat that people who can't walk up the stairs can sit in to get. It's only $3 per person for adults and $1 per person for kids. It's open 10-3 Tuesday - Saturday.

We weren't sure what to expect when we visited since there wasn't a ton of information online, but we figured we'd take a chance for the price. We're glad we went. It was an awesome place, even the gift shop had all sorts of cool little things to purchase. We'll...

Amazing place! Amazing people! Amazing exhibits! This museum is a bargain at $3 per adult and $1 under 12. Clean and friendly with impressive research library. The exhibits are diverse but focused on life in the area. Native American area on the first floor has impressive artifacts on display related to the native peoples. The upper floor has a train set with a reproduction of the town. It also boasts an impressive and just cool collection of guns from a range of periods. The outdoor museum is fun. Compare the rules for teachers from 1872 to the ones from 1915. Go with your kid and support the place. I’ll be there again next time I’m...

We just happened to stop in because we were in the area. They have 3 major sections inside their main building, devoted to Native Americans, general local history, and trappers. They also have an outdoor museum which is the part that pushes them to 5 stars. Full original shacks and buildings relocated to the museum, along with scale replicas. All are furnished with era appropriate furniture, appliances, and trinkets. I'm a sucker for these kind of things.

Appropriate for families, takes about 1 hour. Definitely stop here if you're in the area. This is a hidden gem in Yreka. Admission is cheap, but don't...

This is a small local museum that gives you a peek into life in Siskiyou County then and now. Admission is free, but help sustain the county by making the suggested donation. The museum sits next to a creek that has some beautiful open areas to walk and picnic in. Spring has arrived and there are beautiful daffodils blooming. The creek is lined with blackberry bushes (very invasive and mature vines), so watch your step if you decide to get a closer look.
