Cornerstone BBQ Yucaipa — Restaurant in Yucaipa

I had high hopes of a nice bbq place in town when these guys opened a location up here. Unfortunately they fell short. Not only did they not even give the place a good cleaning or a paint job when they took over from the previous owners, they phoned in the food quality and service as well. The owner seems to focus more on his other locations, not even posting open hours online until last week. The same staff was kept from the last failed establishment, and it shows with the lack of customer service. The food is overpriced and lacks flavor or any outstanding quality to set this place apart from the local drive thru. The quality for price is abysmal. They have Guinness on the menu, and while I dont expect a perfect pour, don't give me a glass of half foam and expect me to be stoked. The sandwich I ordered, which costs almost 20 bucks, is mostly bread, with a dry, underflavored meat in the middle. The bread had more weight than the beef. The Mac and cheese side I received was bland and lacking any heavy cheese, which was unfortunately the best part of my meal. The coleslaw was just a toss away, saying it was bland would be an insult to bland food. Had to ask the waitress 4 times for my bill and she couldn't even do it. Very busy checking her non existent Instagram following for mesages or talking to the other staff. If you are too busy promoting to run your business, I suggest a different choice of income. I have tried cornerstone on three different occasions, hoping that the food quality would be better than before. Unfortunately, the food here is just plain lousy. The mac n cheese is gritty, the brisket should not be able to be legally called brisket. The sauces they have almost all taste identical. The pricing is outrageous considering the subpar quality of the food. Ive had everything they have to offer on their menu in the 3 times I've tried this restaurant chain. The only thing really worth eating is the chicken, the jalapeño sausage is just "ok", and the brisket grilled cheese sandwich is the most filling item for the value on the menu. We visited this new location with friends from out of town, and 3 out of the 4 of us got sick that night. I don't generally write bad reviews as I believe every business deserves a chance, and people are often quick to jump online and leave lousy reviews without proper context. But like I mentioned, this is the 3rd time. Cornerstone serves run of the mill grocerystore meats. And charges you for top tier, Texas style bbq. Which it definitely is NOT. This is what happens when small companies that are doing great, expand and it's nothing like the original. I was handed an empty bottle of steak sauce and told that's all they had, "you can try that, that's all we have." Now this might be just me, but usually when you sit down in a restaurant and you tell them it's your daughter's birthday...they sing or the give a scoop of ice cream. Something.
