Well, i waited to write this review.. i told myself that i wasn't going back after the incident i had with the owner months ago. I just moved here about a year and a half ago, l've bought quite a few pieces from this store. I came in looking for a dresser, found one outside that she had started to paint, i asked how much, she told me as it was she could sell for 150. One of the previous visits she had given me a coupon for 20% off since i had been buying things from her often. So when i was checking out, i mentioned the dresser needed a lot of work, and if i could use the coupon, she lost it on me! I told her "mam if i can't use the coupon you gave me, just say no" she didn't like i called her mam, which i just call people in customer service as a respect thing, not derogatory. Then when she realized she was being out of line she started crying, then i was consoling her, as she's begging me to not write a bad yelp review. I told her i wouldn't, and i still purchased the dresser. We go outside i tell her "it is gonna need a lot of work" she snapped again. And honestly if i knew the amount of work this dresser actually was gonna need, i would have not purchased. When i got it home i noticed that the top was bubbled, it wasn't solid wood, it was pressed board with veneer that she had kept outside, i had to scrap the entire top and buy a board and router it, so the dresser ended up costing me closer to 250$ and a lot of work in the end. Fast forward about 6 months or so, i go back to the shop with a friend, seen a bed headboard and footboard that i liked, for 25$. Well when i was pulling it out i noticed it had a tag on the foot board and head board, so i went inside and said "are the pieces priced separate? Because there's two tags" she said "no not separate" well the other tag said 37$ so im thinking she's gonna honor the 25$ tag, nope! She pulled off the 25$ tag i initially seen and charged me 37$ and as somone who works in the same business, i would have honored the other tag, but this lady is penny wise and pound foolish. Nostalgia is worth a look. This is a store I visit quarterly for about two years. Jamie has treated me very well every time. I like her inventory because it is eclectic in style and condition, meaning they are project pieces, items in excellent condition that you just put in your home, super unique items, and she gets new items frequently. Her prices are good to fair. She has been flexible with me for picking up pieces. The shop is conveniently located. Parking is ease. When in Yucaipa, it is worth a look for that unique gift on your list or something...
