Worst dining experience in over a decade. It was just me and my wife at our table. We were there celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Read to the end. This is shocking!

The service was horrible. It took 10 minutes just to get a drink order, which was long enough for us to look at the menu and place our dinner order when we placed our drink order. They don’t leave bread at the table. Instead they have a kid come around once and he leaves you a piece of bread. One piece. That’s it. Our salads came out after we have finished our piece of bread. We finish our salads and when the waitress comes by to clear the plates, we asked her if we could get our drinks which still had not arrived. Maybe it’s a new thing. Bring drinks after the salad course.

After the salad course, while waiting for our entree, we have to ask if we could please get more bread. Again, a kid comes by and leaves a piece for each of us. Os this not strange? Our entrees arrive. My wife’s $40 ribeye was fine. She enjoyed it. My pistachio crusted salmon was raw. The waitress came by after my wife had enough time to finish her plate, and I informed her of the issue. She offered to have it refired or asked if I would like it to go. I told her no, I did not want it and to please remove it from my bill. (We had plans to go out after dinner so neither option was acceptable). When the waitress returned with our check, she informed us that she removed the meal from our tab
BUT THEY CHARGED US FOR THE BREAD AND SALAD! Who does that?!

I paid the bill, and as we were leaving I asked to speak to the manager. I asked if it was policy to charge for bread and salad when the meal had to be sent back. She told me that this is the policy of the restaurant. That since I ate the bread and salad, I must be charged for it. She said that they do this because people will sometimes come in and just eat bread. I was not one of those people, obviously, but the manager refused to make it right in any way, only offering to put me in touch with the general manager.

The entire experience was terrible. The waitress spent the entire night apologizing to every table she served. The table next to us received a free desert for her poor service, and I got charged for bread and salad when they mess up my entree, because, well, you know
 I...

Used to love this place, but what happened? This was our 2nd visit in the last few months, both extremely disappointing. Atmosphere is always nice, but that's where everything turns downhill. Last time ordered Ribeye, med raw. It was more than well done. Ruined a beautiful slab of beef. Tonight went for Filet of beef . Absolutely zero flavor. Sadly I had to dump on tons of salt and pepper just to taste something. Ordered Medium, came med raw. Interestingly my wife ordered New York med raw, and it came med well. So there's that. Potatoes and veggies just no flavor. Wife couldn't finish hers and I left half of mine on the plate. Service... well it was more challenging than the meal. Waited for 20 minutes for her to recognize we were finished. She finally dropped by and asked about dessert. Regrettably, I said yes and she dropped a menu and left. And I mean left. Didn't see her for at least 20 more minutes. When she arrived, she just dropped the ticket on the table. I stared at my wife and we shook our heads... guess we are not getting dessert. This exact same scenario had played out for the table next to us when we walked in. They ordered desert and coffee. Waited forever for dessert. It finally arrived way late and no coffee. We listened to the grumbling. Finally server came a dropped off their ticket. They commented they never got coffee. She just said she would take it off. Hello, they wanted the coffee! My wife and I were smiling at how frusted our table neighbors were getting... and then it happened to us! Something has changed. This is not the same place it used to be. We took a visitor last time and had to spend 45 minutes apologizing for how bad it was. I can't see us returning here. Had it been busy, perhaps I might cut some slack, but the patio was half empty. The grand send off was that the server dropped our ticket and NEVER returned. Never. Didn't see her again. Luckily my gift card covered all but a few dollars. I tossed in a few additional bucks and we just walked out. Another 20 minutes lost waiting for her. I've learned my lesson. Ths is not a place to expect good food or service. Im finding another go to restaraunt. ...

Disappointed and Heartbroken – No Response After Months I’m genuinely saddened to write this. I had high hopes for Riverside Grill in Yuma, Arizona, especially knowing it’s a local spot and owned by someone in the community, Nan Bain. Months ago, I left a review hoping to get a response about my experience—nothing. I followed up with a personal message on Facebook Messenger to Nan herself—still nothing. I even left multiple messages at the restaurant. No one has ever bothered to reach out.

This isn’t just disappointing—it’s a reflection of how poorly the customer service is handled here. A business is only as mature as the way it treats its customers, and unfortunately, this place seems to lack basic respect and communication.

I had been planning a large family get-together here while passing through town for a few days. But after seeing how little regard they have for their guests, I’ve decided to take my family elsewhere. It’s truly sad—this could have been a great opportunity to support a local restaurant, but instead I was met with silence.

And honestly, I don’t understand how this place has a 4.5-star rating. With service like this, it makes you wonder if the reviews are being posted by employees or people connected to the business—because it certainly doesn’t reflect the experience I’ve had, or the complete lack of response from anyone there.

Maybe they’ve gotten comfortable being one of the few spots in a small town, but good service should never be optional—especially if you want your business to grow and truly connect with the community. Disappointing Service & Lack of Response

I left a review for River City Grill in Yuma, Arizona a few days ago and even called them directly, yet I’ve received no response. You’d think that a business would pay attention to customer feedback, especially when it’s negative, but it seems like they just don’t care.

BEWARE “GIFT CARD SCAM THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF”It’s disappointing when a restaurant ignores its customers instead of addressing concerns and trying to improve. If this is how they handle feedback, I wonder how long they’ll stay in business. Sad to see such poor...

WOW! River City Grill exceeded our expectations - and they weren’t low expectations, either! I’d read a lot of reviews (Yelp and elsewhere) that were positive, and they sure were right about that. It started with outstanding service, from Jenna (hope I didn’t misspell it because it might be Jena). She greeted us immediately, brought out bread, welcomed us in, asked about drinks, and we were off to a great start. My wife was even able to get that excellent gluten-free bread, and I had the regular bread, also great. Wine price point was great, as was the selection. Lots of gluten-free or gluten-friendly options. VERY flexible with modifications. Food was phenomenal, really high quality. I had the herb crusted chicken Dijon and it blew me away. The chicken itself was tender and delicious but the preparation put it over the top. Crispy, tangy, atop a bed of excellent pesto penne, with delicious fresh seasonal vegetables. Wow. My wife had shrimp and scallops over gluten-free pasta and she loved her dish as well. To finish off the meal, my wife had a great Manhattan on the rocks (well, the official bourbon / Manhattan ice cube), using a great Yellowstone bourbon Jenna recommended. Right on! And I can’t stop thinking about the chocolate amaretto mousse. I’m not usually a fan of these types of chocolate desserts because they’re typically too sweet for me, but man was this great! Smooth, creamy, you could really taste the chocolate, it wasn’t overwhelmed by the sugar, and the fresh whipped cream next to it was a great complement. Plus the little amaretto cookie, nice touch. Ambiance was also excellent - loved the artwork on the walls, cool bar, nice vibe. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had, we’ll remember this for a long time. It was a great start to an anniversary trip and we will definitely return when we’re in Yuma again. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
