Laughably unprofessional. Waitresses didn't know which one was our server. Toilet covered in vomit, when I quietly informed the host I was told he hadn't had a chance to wipe it up and he would just close the rest room instead. One soda machine was "down" and the second soda machine was out of carbonation. Salads took half an hour to arrive, long enough the bread that came with my meal was cold - bread that I paid a four dollar (!) up charge to have cheese toasted on. When our food arrived my wife's was missing its meat. They did make a complete replacement dish but by the time that arrived we'd been there an hour and it was time to go. One dinner, three "sides" and two drinks set me back $40 after all the up charges for (generous amounts of) cheese, toasting, chicken in the fettuccine alfredo (on the second attempt) and before the tip. Our (second, final) waitress was pleasant and witty as she took the chaos in stride. She's what brings the experience up to two stars, though the food was good as usual. Had it arrived as ordered and with timing that could have been considered a "meal" it would have been enjoyable. If this is how it is at 6 o'clock on Sunday you can imagine what you're in store for on a weekday lunch. It almost, almost made me wish the owner was there to make up menu restrictions on the spot and lie to our faces about long standing policies since he at least seems to also harass the kitchen somewhat into line. This is a restaurant that is in desperate need of an experienced manager. It can't rest on its laurels and coast on its local...
Read moreI have been a patron of this restaurant for 40 years and I worked at Adornettos in Newark for 7 years as a waitress. I have always loved the food. On Friday, August 30 our family visited this location for a birthday dinner. There were 10 of us. The food was subpar. I ordered spaghetti. I could taste the dough of the noodles, they were not done. There wasn't enough butter provided for all the bread, so we had to ask for more, which took too long- the bread was cold by the time we received the additional butter- we may have asked sooner, but the server didn't come back frequently enough. As a matter of fact, she never even took the empty dishes away until after she delivered our food, but the manager brought out the tray and looked right at the table with all the bowls and empty glasses. I thought at that point the manager would grab them. NO- he just walked away and let the server hand out our food- he said since he didn't know who had gotten what... but the server didn't remember either! We had to wait for refills and as I said, the server never came back to check on us after the food was delivered. We had to wait for our bill and when she brought them she didn't have them right. Our family always enjoyed this restaurant and they always had good service and great food, but obviously the new generation isn't following the old family recipe. I am writing this so someone will take notice of what is happening and make corrections. I had hoped this would be a family favorite for all my...
Read moreI occasionally travel from Chicago to Zanesville and to the East coast for business & pleasure. Several months ago I stopped at Adornetto's for a light dinner, not knowing what to order I asked my waitress what she recommended. As I had expected she told me everything was good (I've heard that story many times all around the world). However after a couple of questions, she recommended the Italian sausage patty w mozzarella and banana pepper sandwich. My initial expectations were I would receive a decent sandwich that would not make the rest of my journey a gastric nightmare. HOWEVER what I received was a TOTALLY ENJOYABLE sandwich. In fact I admit it was one of the all time GREAT sandwiches I've had in over 30 years of global traveling as a purchasing manager for Berkshire Hathaway. I enjoyed it so much I ordered another to take with me so I might enjoy it in Philadelphia. Since then whenever I travel east I make certain I take a route through Zanesville so that I can enjoy a very nice lunch/dinner AND of course I ALWAYS order a couple of those marvelous sandwiches to take on the road or take home with me. BTW: As a matter of habit I always inquire a waitress' name, especially if they are helpful, courteous, and attentive. So I want to thank that young waitress (ask for Shayla) who got me addicted to that fantastic sandwich and other wonderful meals I've enjoyed at Adornetto's. Kindest Regards, Carl Any chance Adornetto's will have a GENUINE REAL Italian...
