Love this place. Old school in the best sense. Let's face it, a certain popular chain has made the [American] Chinese restaurant into a formula. Over time, they all look more & more the same & they all look more & more like this chain, even if you order at table. Lung Fung has items on their menu I haven't seen in years. Why? Because they are preserving a style of restaurant which pre-dates this trend. We were in on a night with other dine-in customers who clearly knew very little about [American] Chinese food. They were treated warmly, with respect & patience as they asked questions about the menu. My wife & I, who were comfortable with the menu, were treated warmly, with respect & enthusiasm as we boldly ordered without questions. We were even, with pride, shown the kitchen. Which, for the record, was spotless. We have been to open-kitchen Michelin starred restaurants. This was as clean & orderly. If you are in the area, & you miss dishes like moo goo gai pan, three delights, dragon & phoenix, mei fun, &c then you cannot miss the chance to dine here. Dine in. Meet the staff. They're great. I'm sure the brisk take-out is also great, but take the time to come sit.

Specifically, their Singapore style mei fun is exceptional. This is my go-to dish whenever I can order it & far too many places put in so much "curry powder" the dish turns bright yellow & tastes of nothing else. This had just the right hint of curry & was otherwise a colorful & light dish. I loved it. The crab rangoon, everyone's appetizer favorite, had actual crab in them, not just cheese. And the filling to wrapper ratio...

had food delivered to our hotel.. very nice delivery guy and even though the food looked and smelled good, it wasn't what we thought it was going to be.. we've had this Chinese on a handful of occasions and it has always tasted very yummy all those times.. but this time it was not very good.. we ordered 35 dollars worth of food and the 2 best things were the fully stuffed Crab Rangoon and the fried chicken pieces and the honey sauce they were in.. I had ordered the honey chicken with fried rice and the fried rice was not the typical way.. instead of the typical fried rice with egg , peas, and bean sprouts it had pork I think and severely undercooked onions.. not really much taste to it.. and I also ordered the steamed dumpling and they didn't taste very good either.. my wife ordered the very tasty Crab Rangoon and also ordered a combo meal with a chicken egg roll and white rice, but the egg roll wasn't very good and the teriyaki chicken didnt taste very good either.. the white rice was very good and fluffy.. we were quite disappointed by the meal this time around as we haven't ever received a bad meal from this place before .. We will give a bit of a break for this place and order from the other place instead.. only bad thing with other place is that it unfortunately it is carryout only.. but the other one is also better prices than the ones at lung fung...

I had seen the reviews for a place and you just never know. I showed up with my husband and son. It looks like a very tiny place and I wasn't so sure. It mostly deals with take out and we asked if we could eat in. The owner happily sat is down. We ordered a seafood plate and two chicken types some crab Rangoon and egg rolls. The food was brought out on paper plates. Well they brought the egg rolls and crab Rangoon first. I tell you that each of us looked at each other in pure shock when the best tasting egg rolls and crab Rangoon that had ever touched our tounges. We sat there and between 3 of us we ate 16 crab Rangoon. I do mean the best I've ever had! They then brought our main meals out. It just blew all of our minds that we ate probably the best Chinese of our entire life. I had to know who this owner was. So she came and talked with us. She is absolutely an amazing human. Ever so kind and she is passionate about her food. Trust me you won't regret going there. It will leave you belly full and you will know quality food like you haven't known in a long long time. I adore her passion and her cooking and most of all her kindness. Thank you for the best Chinese food...

Delicious food. Friendly staff. I would eat here again if I am back in the area. There was a Karen sitting across from me who was actually complaining that she was given to much food. I mean causing a scene with the owner. It took everything in my being to not tell her to shut the eff up. Who complains about getting to much food in a restaurant? This woman was literally griping on and on at the owner that she was given to much food. The owner handled it very calm and professionally. If that says anything about this place, it tells you the portions are substantial. I ate the beef with Chinese vegetables and my wife had the orange peel beef. We also ordered the sesame balls and steamed dumplings. The food was fresh and tasty. Great little find in Zion, Illinois.

🥇+10🌟 The ownership here are working owners. Excellent personalities, very kind, very generous, very attentive to your needs. The flavor of the food is "better" than almost any other restaurant of this type that we've eaten at. It is not a palace but it is spotless. The bathroom, You could eat off the floor if you wanted to but I don't think anybody would want to, lol! I will post pictures of the food, but this is a place you will continue to frequent.

The ONLY drawback was the tea was a little weak. Slow to get food. HOWEVER, once it came, we were NOT disappointed. The ABSOLUTE BEST POT STICKERS and wonton soup I've had in over 20 years! The lady was so nice. Our new favorite place EDIT: They came to explain in detail that they had multiple teas to choose from I just didn't ask. And they are the nicest people that I have met. Please come give this humble establishment your time
