I was in Tashkent for a short period of time sadly and we were tired and didn’t feel to walk much and I wanted to eat Uzbek food so, looking through Google map, this pearl of a restaurant popped up, looking rustic, genuine original so me and my mother decided to give it a try. The environment is very friendly, cozy as we sat in the patio with great music and the personnel extremely attentive and professional. The food was more than excellent, we were extremely satisfied dining at a relaxing environment. When we were about to leave, we had the pleasure to speak with the owners as they heard us speaking a foreign language (Italian) mentioned to us they also owe an Italian restaurant and we were encourage to visit it and because of the great experience had and felt very welcomed we wanted to join this other restaurant but we didn’t have much time. They kindly showed to us the pictures taken with famous Italian singers such as Toto Cutugno and such and it was great to look at the pictures that we ended up hanging out for a bit with the owners Absolutely a great experience as we felt very welcomed and for sure when we will return to Tashkent, that would be our 1st stop for dining and whoever is going to Tashkent, that’s the restaurant I definitely recommend. My apologies this review took forever to be published as I have been wanting to thank you all for the kindness and the brilliant service provided from the owners and the staff since I left Tashkent. ( the white wine in bottle was GREAT!) I wish all the best of luck also with the “ DELIZIA ITALIANA” at Affresco Restaurant, Until next time! - Rahmat Italian living in California and a Japanese...

We stumbled upon Caravan on our guide’s recommendation, and it didn’t disappoint. The multi-story space is grand, with summer terraces and a wooden interior exuding Eastern elegance—apparently a favorite among celebrities, adding a touch of allure.
FOOD:
The restaurant specializes in Uzbek cuisine, and we came for the plov, available in two varieties: a festive “wedding” version and a leaner, steamed-rice option. Both were delightful, with tender, fluffy rice, sweet carrots, raisins, and meat, each with its own charm. The leaner version won us over with its varied meats and sweet accents like raisins, though both were excellent. The mini samsas were a highlight—flaky, crispy dough packed with a generous, juicy meat filling that didn’t skimp on flavor. The brisket, however, was a miss. Expecting a juicy, fatty, hosper-grilled cut, we got a dry, almost overcooked version reminiscent of basturma, though its smoky flavor added some charm. Complimentary salads and spreads were a nice touch, rounding out the meal.
SERVICE:
The service was friendly and welcoming, with dishes arriving fairly quickly. While not the most polished or efficient, the staff’s warmth made the experience pleasant enough.
VERDICT:
Caravan is a solid choice for traditional Uzbek cuisine, steeped in history and popular among tourists looking to experience local flavors. With its spacious, beautifully designed setting and tasty food, we left satisfied. It’s a great spot to showcase Uzbekistan’s culinary heritage, and we recommend it for a flavorful, atmospheric...
Read moreThe restaurant is beautifully as well as tastefully done. The decor captured my attention and i was so fascinated by it, that i stood at all the areas ( ground and the above floors) appreciating the aesthetics. We were seated on the floor above the ground as the ground was full. Live music (instrumental yesterday - saxophone) played by the artist added to the oomph as we were pretty tired at the end of the day (10pm) after travelling from Bukhara to Tashkent. Comfortable seating on the cosy chairs was extremely relaxing. Coming to the food, waiters attended us promptly, service was also quick as per the items ordered. I wont say that taste was mind blowing… but it felt good because the overall ambiance and service had made us contented and we were in a happy zone. We had ordered plov, langman and ceaser salad apart from beer. A cheesecake at the end for dessert. Everything served was quickly devoured and our plates were absolutely clean! We had a great night altogether. One should visit this restaurant if you are visiting Tashkent. Remember that it is not always the cost of the food or the taste of the food that leaves a good memory - the place, ambience, service, smile & lastly the hygiene, all together goes to make a good eating experience. The restrooms should be a...
