CHAY corner in Dalat - Vietnamese Dumplings — Restaurant in Da Lat City

I cannot say enough about how delicious and unique the food is at this restaurant. Everything we sampled was fresh, had a lot of textural combinations and was full of flavors. We had Spicy Salad, the Combination of dumplings, and the Spring Rolls. At this point I was full but we ordered the pancake. Like in all other towns we have had this, it had its own spin on it. My partner loved it. I prefer other ones I have had in Ho Chi Minh City. The owner is super friendly and speaks English really well. Another friendly girl who was there with her friends gave us a plate of fresh tangerines, yogurt and cookies as it is almost the Tet Holiday in Vietnam. We will definitely come back again. Probably tomorrow.

We walked for 20 minutes to eat here as it had such good reviews. However, we were really disappointed. They had sold out of dumplings even though it's meant to be their thing, and they had lots of flavours. They had also sold out of a couple of other options, too. The service was very slow, and we didn't even get a smile or a gesture to let us know they were getting to us. When they did come to take our order, we felt like an inconvenience, i thought the couple next to us were still waiting to order. I offered for them to go first, and the waitress just walked off. This was a very unique experience. We ordered 2 rounds of food. First we ordered the dumplings and the veggie sushi. We were very surprised at the dumplings. These are nothing like we have ever experienced. They are very small, made of clear what looks like rice paper with a TINY filling in them. Not even a full bite per dumpling. The veggie sushi was very good. We then ordered the tempura sushi and the fried pineapple and these were both FANTASTIC! highly recommend both of those items. I would return 100 percent for the fried pineapple and tempura...
