I went here today because it is highly recommended on Google Maps. Perhaps what happened to me is an aberration, and everyone has a good experience here, but my wife and I did not have a good experience here today.
We had some coffee, bac xiu and cold brew and banana cake. The banana cake was normal. The bac xiu was ok, nothing special, but the cold brew was strangely acidic. Normally they serve the cold brew with a lemon, which we asked them to leave the lemon out and they did. Since cold brew is supposed to be low acidity, I don't know why it was so acidic. This isn't the reason for my overall negative review, however.
My wife wanted to buy some chocolate banana snacks in small jars to takeaway. The written price was 45,000 VND and we decided to buy two jars. After paying the bill, immediately after paying the bill, we realized that the cost of the chocolate banana jars were wrong. Instead of 45,000 VND each, they had charged us 89,000 VND each.
I mentioned this to the staff right away. The staff gathered around and started talking, then one of the staff told me that 89,000 VND is "the real price". Great, but that's not the price that is prominently displayed.
Anyway, I am on holiday and I don't want to have an argument about common sense with restaurant staff. There were around 5 staff there talking about it. If all 5 thought this is a reasonable solution, then no amount of talking will change the result. So I left.
Long story short: I paid twice the listed price for something. Staff did not take responsibility or provide any solutions. Make sure you check every price with the staff before ordering anything, because the price listed will not...
Read moreCompletely overrated and overpriced. I ordered a cold brew with milk. I received a glass that was maybe 2/5 coffee and 3/5 milk. It would be one thing if it was string like the Vietnamese drip coffee but it was not. It was just not good by any measure. I then ordered a vegetarian sandwich which said it came with grilled eggplant and cheddar cheese as well as tomato, cucumber, and lettuce. It also said it came with french fries. What I received was a sandwich with scamt amounts of lettuce, tomato and cucumber as well as a single sliver of beet root along with 6 french fries. When I told the staff that the sandwich was not as listed on the menu since it didn't have eggplant not cheese they seemed confused. I had to show them pictures of what an eggplant is from my phone. They kept telling me this is what I ordered and while I agreed that I ordered the sandwich it is not what they gave me. The whole experience was a frustrating waste of time. There are so many amazing coffee shops in Da Lat don't waste your time or money here. The space is beautiful and I appreciate the concept but they are seriously lacking...
Read moreProbably one of the rare industrial styled coffee shop in Da Lat, VIETNAM. During my pleasant trip to Da Lat, I have checked the place out and have been impressed by the generously spacious ambiance with self-grown coffee beans.
The story of the coffee is made right in Da Lat and was brand named as Là Việt Coffee, which is entitled as the coffee shop name. I appreciate the origin of the coffee, while I am definitely not a coffee drinker.
If you put this coffee shops among the Saigon’s places I have introduced, this one is the most spacious one. Even though the decoration is pretty much generic comparing with the high standard Saigon has set during the coffee race, I still enjoy this place to some extent. Who would say no to sipping a cup of capuccino under such chilly weather of Da Lat? Certainly, the clean air and low temperature added an extra to every common angle.
