Le Alpi - Da Lat Restaurant is, in deed, the truest gem of Italian cuisine in Da Lat city.
Such a cozy place for a nice full-on dine-in night or even a casual swing-by diner when you're craving for some true Carbonara.
Everything Antipasto, from the cured meats to the tasty cheeses, are dedicatedly homemade to such fine artisanal level at the very Restaurant - owned and operated by Chef Francesco, a lovely and passionate Northern Italian himself.
Pasta and main dishes such as the Ossobuco are all truly authentic and attentive. And their new choice of steak is amazing!
I even visited the Chef guest session in Saigon for his special handmade Linquine al nero di seppia. Kudos to Francesco!
Give Le Alpi - Da Lat a try when you travel to the city, I do hope you will enjoy what the place and its people offer as much as I do.
The place is open from 5:00 PM till 10:00 PM, closed on every Tuesday. Give them a call for booking to enjoy Le Alpi - Da...
Read moreI have dined at this Italian Restaurant many times in the last eight months. The number one item to note is that Chef/owner Francesco Mina hand makes all the pasta, all the charcuterie and all the cheeses. His passion for his trade comes through his pores and through his heavily Italian accented English. "Frank", as he is affectionately called by many customers, hails from Piedmont, a region of Italy bordering France and Switzerland, which sits at the foot of the Alps, where the name Le Alpi derives. Piedmont is known for sophisticated cuisine and wines such as Barolo. His wife Thao and assistant Minh make a great team.I cannot say enough about Manny, the knowledgeable bartender and sometimes server. He always has a smile and aims to please. Having said this much, the only thing left for you to do is to head over for lunch or dinner and enjoy the authentic Italian flavors Le Alpi offers. Closed...
Read moreI was so excited to go to this restaurant. More excited when I saw the menu. It went downhill fast and became a great disappointment. The gentleman who runs it is from Northern Italy near where I lived. So I expected great tasting Italian food. We ordered the Carbonara and a beef dish in a wine reduction gravy over mashed potatoes. Never seen an Italian carbonara in Italy come with not one piece of bacon of any kind. This did looked and tasted like pasta with oil. The beef did tasted great. Until we got to the frozen part then we had to stop eating. He was kind and offered to give it as a takeaway. He probably realized it would thaw out by tomorrow and taste better. At any rate will never go back. Invest in an instant read thermometer and a recipe...
