Our visit to Trang Cookery was incredibly disappointing, especially given its premium pricing. The restaurant seems completely unable to cope with being at full capacity. We waited an unacceptable 1.5 hours for our food, with no prior warning about the delay. When the dishes finally arrived, they came out around 30 minutes apart, making it impossible to enjoy the meal together.
The quality of the food was equally frustrating. The chips were cold, some orders were incorrect, and portions appeared to be rationed, especially for our larger group. For instance, a burger that was supposed to come with cheddar did not, and when we questioned it, we were told it “didn’t include cheddar”—despite it clearly being on the menu. Similarly, the pulled pork dish served to our table had significantly less cheese than we noticed on plates served to smaller tables earlier. The cheesy chips were another letdown, with a minimal amount of cheese despite the dish being overpriced.
While the staff were friendly enough, this didn’t make up for the slow service, subpar food quality, and the feeling that our group was being shortchanged. Overall, Trang Cookery failed to deliver even a basic dining experience, let alone one that justifies its cost. We won’t...
Read moreTrang’s Cookery Restaurant in Da Lat is a hidden gem that embodies the warmth and charm of Vietnamese hospitality. Nestled near the bustling night market, this quaint and cozy spot offers a delightful dining experience, perfect for enjoying a hearty meal before an evening stroll.
The menu features a variety of delicious, authentic Vietnamese dishes & Western Inspired dishes prepared with care and love. A standout for me was the bò kho —flavourful hearty beef stew served alongside crusty bread roll for a satisfying combination of textures and tastes.
The service is a highlight, with staff members who are attentive and genuinely friendly, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained, with a relaxed ambiance that invites you to linger and savor your meal.
Unlike many eateries near tourist hotspots, Trang’s Cookery isn’t overly crowded, allowing you to enjoy your meal in peace. After dining, its location makes it convenient to explore the nearby Chợ đêm Đà Lạt (night market) and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Da Lat.

Read moreSo we came to this restaurant as it was very hyped online and we personally do think it’s overrated. Starting off the restaurant itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. We took ourselves to our table and had a look through the menu. My partner went for the philly cheese steak baguette & me for the pesto pasta. I am vegetarian and found the options were not that great but i do not like mushroom so that does limit me more. When asking if my pasta had any garlic bread included the waiter didn’t understand anything i was saying. We waited around 20 mins for food. It finally arrived nice and hot, my partner loved his baguette & the chips it came with were really nice. My pasta came out and it does come out looking really nice however the way it’s positioned on your plate can make it slightly awkward to eat. We went to go and get cutlery however we had no forks, 2 spoons and 1 knife- realistically this should’ve been stocked before we arrived. When we asked for forks he brought one over and more spoons, we had to ask again for a fork. Ate our food, was slightly overpriced for what it was was but overall was nice. We paid and the waiter asked if all was...
