Full disclaimer: I am not a Vegan.

That said. Holy Heck. Writing this review as I'm leaving (stayed for ages cos their cat jumped in my lap and didn't want to leave - also their 5yo son joined me during my dinner and helped me learn some Vietnamese), because I had to try capture my reaction.

Holy shiitake. If you ARE vegan or vegetarian, you owe it to yourself to try their Chinese style pork in sweet sauce. It's 60k dong, and you get a plate full of vegan pork which is... Phenomenal. And I say that as someone who does eat meat. Each piece had a meat part and a fat part, with their own realistic texture and taste and I have no idea how they managed to pull it off. Very friendly family run place. The couple are both vegan/vegetarian and have been...

Food was ok, but not even close to what others wrote in the review about the vegan chicken. From the moment I stepped into that restaurant (if you want to call it that) I felt unwanted and superfluous. The staff was eating as it was just before lunch time, they were loud, annoying and careless. On top of that, the place looked like some neglected storage room. Also, it was hot in there, not sure if they even have air conditioning. In terms of service, I got a quick smile when I entered and one when I left, everything else was too much to ask, they did not even make the effort to serve the water in a glass, they just brought me a bottle. If you want to try their food, order via Grab, do not ruin your lunch time by actually...

Very charming Lady cooking authentic and vegan meals. Prices are low compared to other vegan restaurants in Hanoi. The ambient is street food like (plastic chairs) but I liked the simple look. It is very obvious that the owner is very passionate about veganism. The menu is quite large, and many offers are somewhat with Tofu (but also different kinds of Tofu). You also can buy some ingredients and groceries here like nuts or rice. The lady even automatically packed our leftovers for us to take them home. Oh, and one tip: The restaurant is hidden in a little side street, just watch out for the small sign on the street.

If you are looking for a cheap but interesting vegan eating-out experience...

This was a difficult place to find, even my Grab Bike driver was confused. But basically, look for the massive BÚN sign, and enter the alley to the left of that sign. It's hidden right in the left hand corner of that alley. I've never tried the non vegan version of bun cha but this was really a poor effort. As an Hanoian dish, I thought this would be okay to try for the first time, even if veganised... maybe I just got really unlucky. There are a few photos on here that look truly amazing, but mine was just woeful. I rarely give restaurants such a low score, but I was really disappointed...

I was happy to find this place, and thrilled with the taste of the vegan food. I'd had just too much of typical Vietnamese dishes and wanted alot of vegetables. I ordered stir fried tofu with lemon grass and another order of sauteed vegetables. Also had two accompanying small bowls of soup with I think basil, two bowls of rice and a glass of unsweetened soy milk. Wonderful. I highly recommend. Very kind service, too. The restaurant doesn't look like much.....but go in and eat. The price is very reasonable (130,000 for all I had).
