Full disclaimer: I am not a Vegan.
That said. Holy Heck. Writing this review as I'm leaving (stayed for ages cos their cat jumped in my lap and didn't want to leave - also their 5yo son joined me during my dinner and helped me learn some Vietnamese), because I had to try capture my reaction.
Holy shiitake. If you ARE vegan or vegetarian, you owe it to yourself to try their Chinese style pork in sweet sauce. It's 60k dong, and you get a plate full of vegan pork which is... Phenomenal. And I say that as someone who does eat meat. Each piece had a meat part and a fat part, with their own realistic texture and taste and I have no idea how they managed to pull it off. Read moreVery charming Lady cooking authentic and vegan meals. Prices are low compared to other vegan restaurants in Hanoi. The ambient is street food like (plastic chairs) but I liked the simple look. It is very obvious that the owner is very passionate about veganism. The menu is quite large, and many offers are somewhat with Tofu (but also different kinds of Tofu). You also can buy some ingredients and groceries here like nuts or rice. The lady even automatically packed our leftovers for us to take them home. Oh, and one tip: The restaurant is hidden in a little side street, just watch out for the small sign on the street.
If you are looking for a cheap but interesting vegan eating-out experience...
