After ordering the ciders from Hanoi Cider House, we did a quick Google search and found that ciders are fermented naturally in smashed fruits such as apples and mangos. For mulled cider, orange & cranberry along with cinnamon and spices are added to apple cider for this festive drink. We must say that both were a little sweet. By themselves, they were tasty but as accompanying drinks for the BBQ dinner, we’d prefer to have the IPAs. The Mulled Cider in particular, was kept towards the end of the meal as sort of a little dessert drink.
We must say that that the Chargrilled Chicken at Hanoi Cider House is simply delicious. It is little wonder why it is the signature dish at Hanoi Cider House. The chicken had so much taste and flavour in it and it was SO tender! Both the gravies that we chose were perfect but the coriander sauce lifted the dish – reminded us a little of tandoori style chicken when dipped into the minty sauce. This rendition of Chargrilled Chicken easily beats Kenny Rogers hands down with its charred tastes. Delicious!
When the 24 hr slow cooked ribs arrived at our table, we were so thankful that we didn’t order the full slab because the portion was so HUGE! There were chunky meats that were so fall-off-the-bone tender. The BBQ sauce chosen made the dish so much more appetizing. As the slab was fatty, it was still slightly juicy when we went in for the bite. Another excellent dish from Hanoi Cider House – salivating even as we write this post.

Read moreRead the reviews, expected much better accordingly yet was very disappointed sadly. Cocktail did not resemble menu images and had to wait sometime for it after my partner's cocktail drink delivered separately and much sooner. Basic service suggests deliver same time yes? The most awful negroni I've ever tasted and the ice block within the glass accounted for at least 80% of it's content.
Ordering food? To take our order waited far too long and clearly this establishment lacks a team leader to direct staff imho.
Food itself? A basic requirement of any chef is to use seasoning yet the ribs were dry, bland and zero seasoning. Fried chicken again, no seasoning and absolutely dripping in oil. Humus starter I dare suggest didn't even use olive oil but actually tasted like vegetable oil, it was so tasteless and lacked body, really disappointing it was.
The positives? BBQ sweetcorn starter excellent and the Caesar salad starter was ok if slightly damp in texture.
Overall nowhere near expectations, highly doubt we'd choose to return, too many negatives but we live and learn and thankfully there are other establishments here in Hanoi which meet basic expectations and deliver on the majority of reviews. This particular venue can easily resolve the concerns I've raised with a few basics attended too, nothing difficult in addressing...
Read moreThis is my second visit. I was so satisfied when I came with my first friends that I came back with my family over the weekend. It was packed because it was the weekend. Luckily, I was able to sit down at the bar and move to the table. I waited for an hour to finish my drink after ordering. When we asked the staff who took our order when it was served, they finally confirmed it was missing and told us they would make it within 15 minutes. I wonder when they would have noticed the missing order if we hadn't asked them first. We came here to eat happily with our family and were disappointed that you had recommended it to an acquaintance. If it's been 30 minutes since you ordered and the food still doesn't come out, ask if it's missing your order, or you can wait for an hour and a half like us. The food also didn't taste as good as I've been waiting for. To be honest, I was very disappointed with the taste and plating that looked so insincere. The biggest problem with the food was not even seasoned with salt. You ate it separately with salt. The food didn't repay...
