Eden WestLake Homes — Hotel in Hà Nội

Plus 1 service star for the warmness & hospitality of the female receptionist (short-hair girl, no glass). Out of that, the hygiene and downgraded of room & facilities were TERRIBLE: The actual room in reality where we stayed is not alike with their highlight photos on website & booking app. When we first entered the room, we felt like we were tricked! Spider net could easily be seen on the ceiling. Toilet shower & lavabo were too old & rusty that made them feel even more dirty, we were really scared touching it. White blanket + pillows were old & dirty with multiple yellow spots (dont want to guess what they are). Old style woody windows were full of dust. Not forget to mention that yellow-but-slowly-turn-to-black oldstyle ceiling fan. Even their white sofa near the reception looked dirty.

For service, in our last night, we were locked outside of the hotel for 20 mins at Midnight. They locked the door from inside and Did Not notice the door passcode to us when we checked in. We tried to press the bell & call their hotline like 10 times but they did not answer through phone (the contact was busy & then broke many times) until we found them on Whatsapp.

Really dont want to rate this bad but I believe I have to. From the bottom of me, I really wish they would take this as a lesson learnt & start to upgrade the facility +...

Well, let me just say it up front. If you are a karen, this place is not for you. This place is more like a budget, backpacker place so if you are an open minded, adventurous person who wants to stay outside the cramped old quarters but not too far awary, this place might be a good fit for you. I stayed here for seven days and it was a very nice stay throughout. My main reason for loving this place is the location, this Tay Ho lake area is the best spot to stay for me in Hanoi. You can get to everywhere by Grab Bikes or you can rent your own bike easily. Cindy, the receptionist, is very helpful with connecting you to these local services. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around, as well as mini marts and some small malls for your grocery needs. The room is nice, there are no elevators but the staff will help carry your stuff. The housekeeping only comes when you request for it, which is very fine for me cause I don't need to change my bed sheets or towels after every single use. They have a common kitchen area where you can get water, heat your food or even cook your instant noodles. All in all, this is as good a place it can get for me for the price. Being the 4th time I was back in Hanoï, I did not want to be in a regular hotel in the old quarter where most tourists go, I wanted to live Hanoi in the way people usually live it. For that purpose, it was the best to stay at Eden Westlake Hotel. Indeed, best location when visiting Hanoi as a local to be around Ho Tây lake. Even better to be in a traditional Hanoian house in a tiny alley, to feel a real Hanoian with a very quite hotel. All this, Eden Westlake provided to us, and this is exactly what we were looking for. But in addition to this, we were very well treated in the hotel, the staff being very very accomodating, so it made life so easy. We could extend our stay easily, comeback after a tour in the north, organise a late checkout due to business meetings, etc. Everything was possible and made easy thanks to the hotel owner and staff.
