Ok so first let me say that the 2 stars I gave are for my husbands massage, which was decent (not great either though).
Unfortunately, i was not so lucky. The overall treatment was lacking, but what made it so bad was the massage I received. Without exaggeration, it was one of the worst I ever had.
We booked the sports package and after driving the Ha Giang loop i was looking forward to getting pampered a bit and relaxing. The body scrub, the first part of the treatment, started all right.
Unfortunately, my massage therapist was done approximately 5-10min before my husbands’ and already told me to go soak in the herbal bath. That was a bit annoying as i ended up staying in there a very long time and started feeling uncomfortable. I am usually very content with everything and didn’t think much of it. But then the massage started and already 10min in I had the feeling that the therapist was not really paying attention. And sure enough, when I looked, she was picking at her ears, cleaning them and then resuming to massage me! I didn’t say anything at that point (i know I should have). A short while later i looked again (she was making the same painful movement with her hand again and again without moving to another body part) and sure enough, I saw that she was texting! I asked her to stop, she said “sorry”, and continued to massage me. Unfortunately - even though she was not texting anymore - the massage did not get any better.
The therapist was still visibly distracted, and the massage got increasingly painful. It wasn’t about the strength - i really enjoy strong massages and have had many of them - but that she was distractedly repeating the same uncoordinated movement again and again.
It got so bad that I eventually asked her to stop. I also reported the disappointment to the woman at the reception, who was very friendly, apologized and gave a 10% discount. I might not have written this review because she was very graceful about the whole thing and as i said my husbands massage was ok.
However, i just took a shower and found 3 large bruises forming, two at my back and one on my arm! I have never had a bruise after a massage, no matter how strong it was! And especially not already within 15min. I can only advice against getting a massage...
Read moreMy experience here was the worst massage experience I’ve had in Hanoi, after living here for four years.
Firstly, the price does not align with the service quality. This spa is one of the more expensive spas in Hanoi while the service is really quite poor.
The rooms are not very private, even the underwear they make you wear is see through..The steam machine was far too hot, and the therapist did not ask to see if I was comfortable. Both of our therapists were aggressive with their technique which was not at all relaxing. The transitions between massage points was not smooth and it felt like they were just massaging to get it done. The therapists were also demanding in their tone and at one point my therapist left me lying on the bed while she went to light some incense or something for roughly 5 minutes. I’ve never had a massage where the therapists seem so unprepared that they must leave the client for several minutes of the time they’ve paid for.
Stating in the service offerings that a minimum tip of 50k VND must be added is ridiculous and unheard of. A tip is given if the client is satisfied with their experience, it is not a requirement.
Upon paying and leaving my feedback with the receptionist, she attempted to blame the bad experience on me by saying that I was negligent in informing my therapist during the massage, which is not true. She became defensive and even though I explained why we had a bad experience, she did not seem to care at all. I would expect some kind of reduced price or discount for a future appointment (not that we would come back) as is normal at other spas.
We booked a massage here because there were many reviews and a high Google rating. We should have read the negative reviews more thoroughly because many of the issues we had seem to be the same issues other people had, going as far back a two years, despite this spa commenting on these reviews saying that they will improve. They very clearly have not improved if clients are having the same problems two years later..
Avoid this place, there’s many better spas in Hanoi such...
Read moreMy recent visit to Ngải Spa Foot Body Massage for an office therapy massage, expertly delivered by Ms. Nhan, was a genuinely rejuvenating experience. The skill and attentiveness she brought to the session were nothing short of exceptional, ensuring every tension point was meticulously addressed. However, it's important for future visitors to note that clarity in communication regarding the service you desire is crucial. Due to a misunderstanding, I paid for the Ngai signature body massage, which was 100,000 Vietnamese dong more than the office therapy massage I thought I initially requested. While the quality of the massage was undoubtedly worth it, customers should make their preferences explicitly clear to avoid any surprises in pricing. I had an amazing experience, and would definitely go back for another massage, and the tea and cookie provided at the end...
