Sushi Uminohana — Restaurant in Hà Nội

We had the chance to dine at this restaurant on the new year eve. The place is very cosy, with simple interior. We ordered 2 x 1.700.000vnd set menu, which consists of a number of very small portioned dishes. I understand that as a fine dining restaurant, the portion is deliberately small, however, i must also say that at that price you have certain expectations for the portion size and it clearly disappointed me. (Photos attached) That being said, the ingredients were very very fresh. They serve high quality sashimi and nigiris. Their wasabi are really nice too. However, the seasoning of the ‘abalone’ soup and the miso soup were really salty, which really compromises the experiences of the dinner. The nigiris rice keeps falling out of the raw fish too making it quite difficult to eat the nigiri in one go. Overall, ingredients are fresh but the restaurant could clearly perform better. The best and only authentic Japanese sushi in Hanoi. Newly open, chef Duan return to hanoi after years of training and experience in fine Tokyo restaurants. All ingredients import from Japan.
